Does the winner of the Texas Open get a spot , or is the cut off point this week ?
Reason I'm asking is because it doesn't look like Charles Howell is teeing it up next week, which is strange if it means he's giving up a potential place at Augusta.
He had a top twenty last year, and he is currently in great form, but I would have thought that all professional golfers would go all out and grab an opportunity to play The Masters, irrespective of their record at the place.
I guess he has his reasons.

Was huge pressure on him when he made his debut there years back. Was considered the next big thing, never worked out for him, seems lovely lad.Found his ball in the deep rough at the Open last year and was ever so grateful. Not always the case with pros.
Sorry,kind of gone off topic.

he was ski, but those few points he picked up prevented siem being in the top 50
it wasnt an either or situation, the committee invite the top 50 from the week before the masters if they havnt already been invited

Does anybody think Tiger is value at such a skinny price? I'll be looking for value at some of the massive prices nearer the time. Probably an American will win it again.

Tiger had won 3 times this year but his tee shot were dodgy at best....kept missing the fairways and little rough or trees so he was able to get back in it. This won't happen at the masters as too many trees.
He would need to be more accurate off the tee hence wait and see until he plays before backing.

Always fun (and profitable if guessed right) to try and predict Tigers starting SP. Layed at 4.7 as would be surprised if he doesn't go off at at least 5's on the high street, so maybe 5.2 on here. Thoughts?

Donny, whilst i doubt Tiger will be putt as well as he has had recently i don't buy into the it is impossible to putt really well at Augusta. Yes they are undulating and if you get on the wrong side of the hole very slick. However the holes are effectively in the same position every year so the more experienced players tend to know the lines and where to miss with their approach shots.

For me you will know at halfway if Tiger wins or not.If he is within 3 after 2 rounds he will win,if not highly unlikely. Not a catch up course.Well thats my thinking! Mickelson e/w always the play for me at The Masters.
