An interesting aside to this bet is that I am probably depending on Ogilvy to beat Clarke tonight for my match bet. I like the look of your book of bets.  Jones played ok last week. Senior may still be on a high and I would be inclined to trade him if you can.

yeah for sure. since senior is a free bet, any lay becomes 'profit' should i lay. but i always do manouvres with that 'profit' so we'll see.
and i figure jones can easily lead and not win.

My motley crew at the moment are Geary,Scrivener and Steven Jones(-2) who looks good value @200+.Only heard of him last week but seems a solid player and trustworthy.

Personally delighted that Tom Watson has been nominated for the captaincy of the next U.S. Ryder Cup team. He was my first golf idol and I suppose that never changes. Clarke or McGinley now for Europe.

are you pondering backing ogilvy for lots but at an avg odds of say 2.1 or something like that, with the rationale being that ogilvy will prob get to that price since he is ogilvy and popovic is popovic and zhang is zhang...

then your exposure would be reduced as well to say -300 instead of the current ogilvy 1k+

@poke...... I am not sure I want to punt Ogilvy again until at least mid 3rd round. There are just so many players lined up directly behind him and I feel certain that he will be passed tonight by at least 2 or 3 solid players. I certainly do not think that he should be the price he is. A lot of players put themselves into contention during round 2. The greens will also become slicker and harder.To be honest Poke, I do not fancy Ogilvy. Saw a few things last week that put me off him a bit. He has a habit of scoring the odd bogey or 2 and would be 3 shots farther back here if it was not for 2 chip ins on round one here. One particular chip was motoring towards a double bogey. That is how I feel currently. No bet on the other tournaments.

@Merlin7... I DO like the way he walks so confidently between shots. And he can putt. As can Popovic but he may cave in at any time if thoughts of his Dad start playing on his mind. I really hope it does not.

i have muppeted one play this tourney and that is backing popovic for $25 @ 27's after round one and laying him for $20 @ 14's this round when he looked like crumbling. but alas he sunk EVERYTHING after that with the flat stick.

Popovic putted beautifully which made the round look better than it was, a few nervy shots so it won't be him. I fancy another Watney type Sunday with Allenby to play the hero perhaps but need more than the current 27s to commit to that, should be nearer to 40s.

i think popovic has played a great tourney thus far. he knows that if he gives himself enough birdie putts, he'll roll enough in to win the way he is putting.

Still not sure myself re Popovic simply cos I never heard of him before this week, but there were a few dodgy swings today. Sunday pressure does things to players. Would be nice to see him win for his old man but I'm not sure, won't lay him but can't back him either. $70 is ok, no stress and for interest sake might just dabble a little bit if I'm home watching.

i'm quite certain pops will have a birdie putt on the first. he will hit iron off tee which takes out the possibility of water you would think. and since the second shot is a layup, it is not a long iron and that takes out the chances of pulling it into the woods like ogilvy yesterday. so all things being equal he should be inside 20 foot for bird on the first.

i think if he chokes it will come later. lets see.

NBA harder than college in my opinion Tobe, the fact they play an 82 game season means they're not just up for it every night and picking when they have a letdown is tough. Short price faves in college are pretty safe, having said that Indiana went down today (top ranked team). Combine selections in sensible multis is my thing, todays was Michigan/Kansas/Gonzaga and Adelaide in the A League. Michigan and Kansas won big and Gonzaga now dominating.
