Pods Moustache is for "Movember", month of November to grow a moustache to raise money for cancer charitys. It does make him look like someone from the Village People, mind.

that's it! village people. i couldn't quite put my finger on it. nice one deplasterer.
and rhino, she even insisted on carrying/holding the umbrella . i'm like, 'yeah that's cool.' haha.so we had a break from golf and go to some pavillion where you get three balls to chip into a small basket about a metre or so away. if you get one in you get a voucher for citigolf (some golf simulator in the orchard road area). some grandma infront me proceeds to get two our of three and i'm thinking, 'man, this could be embarrassing. grandma got two, i better get at least one. after i fail my first two attempts i'm feeling pretty retarded. but luckily i saluted on the last attempt . |

Pokeron , the reason you found it so easy to arrive where you did on Thursday is that generally in Asia there is nobody there , at least for the first 2 days . Had experience similar to you at Indonesian Open in Bali a couple of years ago , we had up to 20 free passes for the 4 days , couldn't give them away . Went the first day ourselves ( non umbrella carrying wife ) , found ourselves in the press area with free access to computers etc . And free food , not that we wanted any food , drink we would have taken given the exorbitant price of a lot of drinks in Bali , beer excepted , but no drinks . Nobody looking after the shop basically . Having said that the first day I went to the Cheltenham racing Festival in 1974 I found myself in the reserved enclosure for free !
Only ran for one year that Indonesian Open , guess the sums just dont work out . Would have expected more interest in Singapore though . My fellow Irishman Padraig is dead on except for his speed on the course , plus his swing tinkering and obsession with equipment . Guess its the interface between golf as a living and lifestyle choice . And I think wives sometimes play a part , not just as umbrella carriers . |

it's a trend for golfers to bring their mrs nowadays i see.
larrazabal and rory both had theirs on their laps in golf carts. lee slattery's was next to him on the range thurs morn. more wives are seen nowadays. maybe tiger woods started something with wives and girlfriends. i think its a good thing. seeing oosty playing with his daughter while waiting for the playoff made me smile. |

Kelly I concur with that was at the Indonesian Masters in April this year, and by one of the hospitality stands behind the 15th green, I just walked in and the waiter offered me a few glasses of wine and some grub no questions asked. Best day out I have had at a golf tournament esp. with the lookers they have marshalling the greens.

i have an irrational fear of cable cars.
years ago there was a cable car incident with a ship and i have have had the irrational fear since then. but yes i have tried it years ago. |
|
By:
I can well understand your type of fear. In my own case, I have had ongoing eye surgery since my teens and , without realising it, I now have a fear of umbrellas. Sounds crazy, but if I see an umbrella approaching me on a pavement etc,. I will avoid it's path big time.

umbrellas are dangerous in the hands of arrogant people oblivious to how big their turning circle is.
i almost got hammered a couple of times by umbrellas. wise to avoid them you are. |

Ref the cable cars , a few years ago my wife conned me into an organised day trip out in Singapore . She loves cable cars etc , I , like you Pokeron , have an irrational fear of aerial transport ( planes excepted ) . She laughed and chatted with our fellow travellers in the cable car to Sentosa , I sat and calculated what speed I would be doing when the thing fell and we hurtled towards the jungle / sea many hundreds of feet below . Not quite the speed of sound , but terminal velocity used to be 120 mph ....
Not on my bucket list that form of travel . |
