I scrapped my decision to go with the woods/ usa ryder cup double.
My reasoning is; people who need to show some form for the ryder cup so will have more reason than most to do well this week and also those with a point o prove;
Rose 33's Bubba 33's Fowler 66's (e/w) Senden 66's (e/w)
I like Senden this week- top 5 in greens in reg on this course last season but last in putting. This weakness has very much improved this year so 66's for an incredibly solid player in a 30 man field is good.

The layers are happy to take Rory on, but not so happy to take on Tiger.
You'd have gotten about 750-1 on Rory if you backed him the last three weeks (14*8.8*6.4)... Wish I'd been smart enough to jump on the Rory train a few weeks back.

backed Hunter pre-tourney,besides liking the course got a feeling he's going to be sticking the proverbial two fingers up at wobble neck at the winners presentation.

Very tempted to back Rory @ 9, hoping for a good start. I was out last night, so didn't see of the play. In no real trouble with 6 of the top ten winners, so might wait and see if anyone makes a move from the back. Any ideas?

The anti Tiger attitude on Sky is getting beyond a joke now, any excuse to have a slightest pop. Gets it to 3ft from a 30ft putt and talk about how the Tiger of old would have made that

Bruce Critchley is becoming unbearable. If he says 'The Tiger Woods of old would have holed that' one more time I'm going to scream! Other gems tonight include, Westwood and Donald will be Europe's most experienced players at the Ryder Cup and to a lesser extent Sergio Garcia. My favourite though was 'Garrigus and McIlroy are matching each other shot for shot, both picked up a birdie at the last but Garrigus gets the honour as he holed out first'

pattayaboy, I kind of knew he could, but didn't. My question was more why he didn't. Was the rough on that "peninsula" so bad that he couldn't find a place to drop the ball and have a safe shot down the fairway with a short iron, rather than facing a new intimmidating shot from the tee ?
The rough there didn't look that bad to me, that's why I'm asking.

Eddie, you can only assume that he felt the ball went straight into the water and as such he must play his next shot from where it crossed the water hazard which was just in front of the teebox but could bring as back as far as he wanted which was the teebox.

A fair point, but I don't think that was the case as the ball landed in the water just a few yards from the bank and it would require a huge slice if it didn't go over that peninsula. That can't be the case as Furyk usually play with a draw and the hole also favours a draw. I think it just was a straight pulled shot.
I'm sitting here thinking Furyk(and his caddie) just lost their heads in the heat of the moment.....

I haven't had a bet on here, nor anywhere else, since early June.
I'll probably start up again late this year or early next year though. I'll will then also be using the purple place...

Agree with u there Eddie..Must have lost their heads. He's gone right of that tree which is on the edge of the water, so deffo did'nt cross until it almost hit the water! Why did'nt they go look? It's not like there was anyone behind them. This is where the caddy needs to have some authority and had'nt any....
