This event has a new, enhanced prize fund, courtesy of Betfair. (thank you BCM2)
This is how it works: There are 12 sections You have to pick 1 player or number (depending on which section) for each one. The scores for each selection are listed below. Just put the letters A to L with your choice for each - preferably going downwards, followed by a tie-break answer (ABCD in the right order). The people with the highest scores at the end of the Open will win as follows: 1st - £200, 2nd - £120, 3rd - £80, 4th - £40. to be paid direct into your BF account. There are 2 special added prizes this time too: The lowest cut-maker among entrants – that is whoever finishes exactly halfway in the competition (eg, if there are 500 entrants the one who finishes 250th) will earn £50 And, A token £10 to whoever finishes last. In the event of ties, 2 separate tiebreaks will be operated, if there's still a tie (unlikely), the prizes will be added and divided equally among those involved in the tie. The tiebreak for the £10 last place prize however, will go to whoever does worst in the tiebreak.
The Sections:and some details/clues A. How many will Martin Kaymer score in Round 1 3 points for exact, 1 point if 1 out Par is 70

L. What will be the final winning score? Par is 280 but used to be 284, Last 3 winning scores at Royal Lytham were; 274 (D.Duval 2001), 271 (T. Lehman 1996), 273 (S. Ballesteros 1988). In the last 20 years the lowest Open winning score was 267, and the highest 290 (all venues). 5 points for spot on, 3 points for 1 out, 2 points if 2 out, 1 point if 3 out. Choose a number (again, imo) between 268 and 290.
TIEBREAK 1: What will be the total score from these 6 players, on the 1st hole in Round 4 only. Any of them not making it to Round 4 will be considered to have scored 5 L. Donald, P. Mickelson, H. Mahan, G. McDowell, R. Goosen, T. Bjorn. Just put the number of shots they’ll score in total – Par would be 18, assuming they all make the cut I should think a number between 14 and 24, but I could be wrong. Nearest to right gets the win if the tiebreak’s used, and no-one gets it.
TIEBREAK 2: Put these players in their order of finishing. The highest placed of them will get 4 points, 2nd - 3 points, 3rd – 2 points, 4th – 1 point. Please put ABCD – in your selected order. A. S. Bae, B. J. Huh, C. K. Kim, D. K. Na
Other stuff E&OE - If there's a player missing from any of the sections as I've listed them (I don't think I've missed anyone), he will be ignored for scoring purposes. Any ties in any sections, points shared; (eg, if the score is 2 points for 3rd, 1 point for 4th, and there's a tie for 3rd, both will score 1.5) Please put initials with any ambiguous selections (there are 2 Watsons, 2 Johnsons, Clarke/Clarke) any doubt about a selection for a section will score ZERO for that section regardless of the intention. The organiser's (that's me) decision is final. I'll try to update scores and standings at the end of each day's play. Please note you must have a funded and active Betfair account to receive any prize you may win. Entries accepted until 12.00 Midnight, Wednesday 18th July. Good Luck everybody and enjoy the golf
