looks like calm conditions for the first 2 days, some very low scoring last year........andersson hed, came 2nd last year leaving some poor form behind him, comes here in similarly bad from but at 225/1 with good course form , worth an interest..................i am looking forward to seeing andres romero again, shot a first round 65 last week, before missing the cut to get some practice over here, won 500k for a 2nd place in the memorial in june and has shown a bit of previous on the links when coming oh so close to landing the open a few years ago, at 75/1 - 80/1 looks very interesting runner
Unlike most of the people on this thread I was at Castle Stuart on Sunday. In the main I would have said there was a two club wind .What you cant see on tv are all the run off areas and some of the pins were tucked away making low scoring very difficult. Its easy to mock people or call them chockers but I doubt any 6+ handicapper would have brocken 90 yesterday.Casle Stuart like a lot of links courses would normally be a lot firmer at this time of year and yesterdays wind showed what a test this course is.Given a dry run up to this competition giving hard fairways etc I would expect much higher scoring and perhaps the course would get the respect it deserves.

postie--sunday was by far the best viewing--and you saw how quickly wind can change the course--and it wasnt overly strong.
no wind any links course is vulnerable
look forward to castle stuart keeping it next year
