Got to be Furyk carrying the bulk of my money this week. He is bang in form and has superb form around this course - the A T & T is returning to The Congressional Blue Course for the first time since 2009, on his last three visits here ('09,'08,'07) Furyk has finished 7th, 3rd and 3rd.
Woods is the obvious danger however there are so many if's and but's that I have him only for covering money.
Mahan also has solid form around here but I think that Sunday's fireworks at The Travellers have taken a lot of value away from him.
Of the others Allenby, Glover, Perez and Singh could all go well if they can improve their recent fairly average form.

taken tiger at 6/1 with ladbrokes. just purely because in this field i think he has a better than one in six chance of winning this. will probably end up with a small cover on the hunter. still pissed of with furyks final round at the us open to back him again so soon after, it was his for the taking and i didnt lay off! haha

Can't see past the big boys this week with Tiger, Hunter and Furyk all in form and all with great course form. Their prices are not big enough for a pre off punt for me so won't be getting involved with before the off. The only smokey I'm remotely interested in is Yang, but would want his price to head north of 220s before backing.
Report Goalhanger June 26, 2012 10:10 AM BST
Two big prices in Steve Marino and Chris Di Marco, both went well last year.
Report therhino June 26, 2012 11:14 AM BST
It was at a different course last year Goalhanger...

Can't see Furyk staying around 20s for long, what with his record here and super US Open performance.

As a few have said it's hard to look past the top three or four in the market this week. Adam Scott looks short enough though.

Davis and Crane are two I like around the 100s mark.

ryan palmer going to win soon, but only 33's with tiger in the field aint massive value
just watching tiger should be interesting Cool

KJ, Sabbatini and SY Noh are my main 3 in this. Having read that the course may be playing firm and fast I have added Kyle Stanley and Boo, here's hoping that there is a serious improvement in their usually horrendous putting! Good luck all.
Report the muppet moans June 27, 2012 8:35 PM BST
The early play on Ryan Palmer on Monday (0.2 ew 66/1) was purely based on price where on earth that price came from for a player whose form reads 4/c/9/5/3 is beyond me. I also think that the place price available on Tommy Gainey is way out of line. It is ironic that someone with the nickname "two gloves" has so many third placed finishes! last year he had four and has already added another last month at the Colonial Whilst he hasn't played Congressional before his first Nationwide win came in the state of Maryland so hopefully he will have some positive vibes 0.25 ew 150/1
I couldn't resist a punt on Rory Sabbatini who ticks a lot of boxes this week. He was 2nd on his penultimate start partly due to the Tiger Woods wonder shot and played solidly last week. He was 6th at Congressional back in 2005 which had been his only start on the course before last years US Open where he was 30th. He was also 1st and 3rd at the Potomac course in Maryland in what was the forerunner to this event 0.3 ew 80/1.
Heath Slocum hasn't been playing great golf this year so far as he has struggled to put all facets of his game together with putting usually being his achiles heel but last week was different. At River Highlands he was his usual 2nd for driving accuracy but was 1st for scrambling and 3rd for putts per round. His stats at last years US Open here were very similar and he had his best finish of the season when 11th. He certainly knows how to win when given the opportunity and is worth a bet at 125/1 0.25 ew.

I've added JB at a tick under 100. He seems like he's getting back to his old self after brain surgery.

I deliberated over Boo and Bo, but Bo's too short, so Boo's the way to go.
Report Shaky June 27, 2012 11:33 PM BST
I got about £13 on palmer on here on sunday night at 65s, was delighted.  nearly choked on my cornflakes when i saw paddys opened their market with him at 80/1, got £50 ew on at that price. I know it always ends up disappointing when you get such value and it comes to nothing but here's hoping.
Added Furyk at 20s too, he usually gives a good run for your money.

I got a few early prices on this.
Palmer 50/1
Noh 80/1
Sabbatini 80/1

Well the market just underwent major upheaval. Mahan out to 17.5 from 14.5, DJ out to 22 from 18.5s. The lay over round was 103% for a while. Makes me think one of the big names is out... maybe one of the two mentioned above.

I guess if the favourites are lengthening then roughies must be shortening, but these prices jump out:

Castro layable at 140s, Hossler 180s, Henry 180s, Reifers 230s, Claxton 160s, Jobe 160s, Cantay 200s, Vijay 110s and Chalmers 130s... Ed would have a field day if he were still around!

Seems all the interest is in Ireland this week, which is fair enough.

Hunter continuing on his merry way after his cracking -9 4th round last week. Still, can't help but think $3.40 at the mid-way point is very short on a tough course, especially seeing as there are eight guys within three shots. He deserves to be favourite, but $3.40 seems a tad overzealous to me.

Team of 13, 4 missed cut.  Mahan (mini winner), Noh and Leishman (good winners).  Might green up later.
No bet in the European, anybody but J. M. Singh or Matthew Zions.  Good luck with your bets and lays.

Leaders not out til 9.40 so?? Will they get full round in?
Report Quincy June 30, 2012 3:35 PM BST
Given it some more thought, decided that Mahan is too short at 9/4 with two rounds to go, so have taken some out him and a bit out of Noh.  Minimum green on the field now. Good luck with yours, especially those with Noh as jackpot winner.
Report Mighty Whites 2008 June 30, 2012 3:55 PM BST
leaders are off at 3.10 and sunset is 8.38 so it will be tight in 3balls. They often speed up when it avoids getting up early to finish off a round. With no crowd they should get round a little quicker.
Report hacker June 30, 2012 4:41 PM BST
Mahan put on a clinic yesterday and for me  should get the job done this weekend..Unlike last week this isn't a course that gives up too many low scores and other than Woods the top of the leaderboard is weak, so if he plays the weekend in under par he wins...I've backed him to win with a cover on Woods and Perez..gl to all.
Report Mighty Whites 2008 June 30, 2012 4:43 PM BST
Mahan has a new driver and yesterday it was superb. If he drives it like that over the weekend then i can't see him being caught
Report hacker June 30, 2012 4:53 PM BST
Agree MW...This track is all about driving Stats....he is one of ,if not the best Driver on tour...I got on at 9's all the way to 3.5s and i still think his price is value now..Having said that..never keen to back players after shooting a low one...his round yesterday was like a 62 anywhere else..but Mahan is now a class act,and im happy for him to carry my money...

Hunter certainly not out of it, but there would be a few disappointed backers out there today.

There are 18 blokes within five shots so the final day should be a cracker Happy
