Glad to see it enforced, its about time they speeded these pros up. At times its painfully slow and makes for dismal viewing.

Was down there this afternoon following this group.It was absolutely appalling,the time they were taking over each shot.
Every time they got on the green,it felt like an eternity before they all putted out. In that weather,we were losing the will to live |

Of course it's good to see something finally being done about slow play, but not sure Paramore got the time and the place right from a fairness point of view. Strikes me that he's decided that enough is enough and has gone out looking to make the decision rather than having to make the decision.
By the letter of the law it is, of course correct, but it strikes me that if slow play is ever acceptable, then under pressure in a final round of an important tournament in awful weather is a fair enough excuse. If ever there is a time to slow it down and make sure you get everything right it is then. After all, there was no-one behind them waiting. The problem is the habitual offenders who hold up the whole course on a Thursday and Friday, under normal conditions and with relatively little pressure. Paramore has set his precedent in the most publicity-generating way possible but in order for things to be fair this needs to be enforced on a regular basis across the board rather than just making an example of Fisher. |

By all accounts,Fisher was warned twice on Saturday and,again,warned twice yesterday before his penalty.It was ridiculous how long he was taking on every shot.
This needs to happen far,far more often,imo |

I've always felt he comes across as a decent guy but it must be a nightmare to play with him.There was one green yesterday,think it was the 4th or 5th,where they all knocked it to within 20ft and took nearly 10minutes to putt out!!
It's actually quite difficult to take that amount of time over what was 3 regulation putts if you think about it,imo |

Total Bosman i don't agree with the they are the last group line. Surely they should follow the same rules as everyone else. Fisher was lucky the hole before when he took an eternity to lay up. Could have done then. If you are on the clock and then get a final warning it doesn't take a rocket scientist to tell you to speed up.

Certainly cant have different rules for final group.The whole rule would become a farce.

Ross Fisher hits the ball a long way, meaning that in most 3 balls, he will be second or third to play, meaning that he will have an extra minute or two, to think about his shot selection.
He was given a warning, yet he chose to ignore it. No excuses. Bring on more penalties. |

Certainly not saying that they should have different rules for the final group, but hoping this wasn't a one-off attempt to make an example (given how much slow play has been discussed recently), and instead will start happening more regularly, particular during the opening rounds where it holds up play all round the course, because that's where the sanctions are needed most.

Spot on maggot.It's not just Fisher but nearly every player who's due to hit last after the initial drives,only starts looking at their yardage charts,wind etc when it's their turn to play,wasting the previous 6 or 7 minutes just looking at the scenery!!They should be practically ready to go as soon as the previous players ball as landed on the green.
They make a three hour 3 ball last five hours and it should be punished with a two shot penalty for the offending player(s) |
