I think its good having fraser where he is but think the pack will be 3 off the lead after tonights round and there will be quite a few within 3 or 4 shots for the final round.

he looked like a shaking dog when he was walking up 18 yesterday.
imo he is lay of the millenium on the win, top 5 and even get greedy on the top 10 markets.

Levin certainly has a temper but is no mug. He has had a few good tournaments in the last 12 months.
5 shots is a good lead but this is a course where big swings can take place. Another good tournament for Huh second tournament and he finds himself in the final three ball again on the weekend.

cast your minds back 1 week when perhaps a future multiple winner Kyle Stanley only needed a double bogey on the last to win. 5 shots over 36 holes is nothing on this course.

He was a small green for me but now a red. I do think at only half way somebody will shoot 63 today and somebody will get close to him. I am sure his odds will get bigger at some point.
My guesses would be Kyle Stanley and Bill Haas both have the game for this course

It's hard to say a proven choker when he hasn't been in contention so many times. It's always gonna be tough at first.
I bet you would say Garrigus was a proven choker too.

You'll have to highlight these particular chokes? I see he has been in contention numerous times but his final round scoring on those days was pretty impressive.

if any one has any spare cream I would be greatful....goes lovely with humble pie. thought the field would close on him yesterday but being yanks they just seem to be playing for the 2nd place cheque. wouldnt back him at 1.35 if I wasnt involved already but have backed him and accept its a losing trade irrespective of tonights result.

yes looks like a small red for me, i too thought somebody would get alot closer to him, but he played very well, same again and he wins.
At least the win on Lawrie more than makes up for this

I was of the thinking that what happened to Stanley last week would be a big benefit to him. Would be fresh in the mind that crazy things happen in golf, and he would not have been getting ahead of himself and mentally would still be playing to win, as opposed to playing not to lose. When the latter mentality kicks in in any sport bad things tend to happen.

sort of thought along those lines myself therhino. if any of these none winners is ever facing the same scenario as Stanley and they have a 3 or 4 shot lead on the last where out of bounds or water figure, they would need to have the brains of a rocking horse if they didnt learn from stanleys mistake. no drivers...no firing at pins...play for bogey...job done.

Grant - I usually only tune in to see the final few holes of the tournament - can't believe they do this. Perhaps you could provide a bit more information instead of trying to be smart.

Mixed feelings here. Lost 70 bucks on Levin but had Stanley and Lawrie in the golf comp. Seriously gonna have to evaluate whether to continue with this golf betting thing, haven't a clue what's going on these days. Seriously Spencer, a 6 shot lead, and 8 shots over the guy who won? On a course that really isn't very difficult for pro players. Ridiculous, crazy game golf but you've gone too far here Spencer, you've gone too far.
Come to think of it, Congratulations Spencer Levin, 2012 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am winner, after a final round meltdown from 3rd round leader Bobby Gates, who relinquished a 17 shot lead chasing his first PGA Tour win. You heard it here first folks, lock it in.

therhino, Levin was always a strong candiate to mess it up, his swing and mental attitude have huge question marks against them. I laid him with 2 rounds to go and was amazed how well he played in round 3! I did not lay him again until I watched him in round 4 you could sense the meltdown, I laid him again and again when Kyle got within 4 shots. At this level it is all about your mental state and many of them are scared to win, very few are comfortable leading in the 4th round, one that is (and whatever you say about his putting, its just bad in the 1st or 4th round)but he is totally at ease leading is Westwood.
Kyle is a proper player and his loss last week was far more of a shock. I really think Kyle has the chance to kick on to the upper ranks of the game and have a shot at a major. Poor old Spencer will never win (or at least not with my money on him)

The tee shot Levin played on the final par five was completely the wrong shot IMO. I never saw it, but apparently he went left into the water on the same shot in the third round. Why he then smashed a driver out to the right next time they play the hole is crazy. Result - he ends up under a bush and digs it out with his putter. Surely taking something like a 4 iron off the tee, then a mid iron lay up would be a far better percentage call. The chance of birdie can't be much different going for the green in two or the lay up option, but the chance of dropping a shot or landing under a bush would be considerably less.

4 iron off the tee on that hole is no good Adrian. It's a brilliant risk reward that hole, it's just begging to be attacked, the water is there to punish the poorly executed shot. Driver is the right club, water the wrong destination... It was a good choice, just a poor shot.
It's like the 13th at Augusta, brings plenty of players unstuck, but the guys who win green jackets birdie or eagle it.
