I recently wanted to withdraw a sum of money from my account to purchase something I need. There are 2 cards on my account, my old card ending which I have a net deposit of £2651.50 which expires this month and my new card ending which has a net deposit of £50 (it was £390 but today I withdrew £340) - (So.. The new card is for the same bank, same account and sort code, just a new card with new number)
I initially went to withdraw £1540 but discovered it wouldn't let me withdraw any money to my old card with the net deposit of £2651.50 and would only allow me to withdraw to a limit of £390 from my new card.
The old card is the same bank and a a replacement card, they just send new cards and numbers each time at Santander.
My questions are... Can I move the net deposit from the old card to my new card seeing as it's the same bank account? Will the net deposit on the old card be transferred when it expires at the end of March? Or have I got an account with a balance today of £1900.22 but I can only ever have £50 of it?
I have extensively looked through all the support material and I tried, somewhat unsuccessfully, to resolve this with the virtual chat who didn't understand the question.
