Haven't looked at the article but it wouldn't surprise me if that is true. I did look at suicide statistics for OECD countries and those that had more stringent gambling restrictions had on average higher suicide rates. IIRC South Korea, has the highest suicide rate and the most stringent gambling restrictions

The 2 highest in Europe are Finland and Sweden,
Which is amazing ,given Finland also is always top of happiest people,and Sweden has a great social care,system. Maybe the long dark winters trump this. |
