I'm sure it will fail of course, but here goes........hoping for a 36 pcent strike rate, must go off fav or joint or co favourite....everything settled at Bfsp. Obviously some that are now not selections maybe a selection if backed into and going off fav/jt/co during the days racing, I will try and update if that happens, similarly a posted selection can become a non selection if it drifts and doesnt start fav/jt/co.....easy enough?

Cheers raspberrybottom, the problems are there and easily see with this sort of system, Telecommunication would have been the selection after the withdrawn GR, but it was too late to post and change it. Never mind.
Its a system done through Horseracebase.com so I can download all the correct results on a weekly babsis and see how it goes! |

I looked at this idea a long time ago and couldn't see a way of making it pay, especially with backing a lot of odds on losers.
Not saying it can't be done of course. Maybe if you stick to certain race types; h/caps.. non h/caps. 2yo. 3yo. all age. whatever. Courses even. With regards to last post , maybe place betting is the was to go. Will be interested to see how this pans out. Good luck OilyWragg. |

Hi ericster and thanks for posting. I tried this over 13 months ago realising it wont last for ever of course but at the moment all is fine.
The average price of the selections at Bfsp is 3.54 and the average price of each winner is 3.14 with an a/e of 1.08 and with only a small percentage being odds on. The biggest negative of course is the system rules which stipulate that the horse must go off fav/jt/co favourite. Its simple and straight forward when the horse in question is an obvious favourite but when its a close thing in the betting and drifts away from favouritism its a problem as you need to be at your PC at the time of the off. Sometimes when a horse drifts away from favouritism the horse that replaces it becomes the selection but not always which again means being by your PC at the time of the off and refreshing the system pages. Around 67% are placed at the returns are around 5% which is why I'm also recording the place prices, around 57% of selections finish first or second so I'm looking at the 2tbp markets too.
