I`ve spent most of 2021 devising methods/systems etc, all failed except this one.
Three months in profit, so now due to lose, we`ll see.

Laying for profit, can it be done?
with over 15 years experience in this area i can answer your question: YES
reality check: I would caution that unless you find a double figure edge, you will likely experience
downswings of depressingly long periods, my longest was 8 months, but I also had several of
4 to 6 months.
During these periods, it is easy to doubt your own methodology. So, not only do you need
to find a winning edge, but you also need the psychological make up to allow yourself
to endure the inevitable long losing streaks without flinching or making uncalled for adjustments..

I just go through the RP looking for any horse that’s last two form figures are 21.
Absolutely nothing else.
It’s certainly upsetting my ‘troll’ TM.
As you can see the £166.85 profit so far plus Boris’s £200 is 36.68points.
For me to lose now all my future losing bet’s odds have to total that.
But every future winning bet is a point added.

Aye, I got so "upset" that I pointed you in the direction of how to make 1700% more from the exact same selections, you plum.
If I got any more upset, you'd probably need to buy a new wheelbarrow for all you pretendy profits!

The Rules
There will be 8 fortnightly rounds, 16 weeks in total.
Each round and each week within rounds will begin on a Sunday and finish on a Saturday.
Each team will have 8 selections per week, one from each player, duplicate selections are allowed but no duplicate selections within teams at any time. Players must use their 1 selection per week, it cannot be carried over to the other week in the round.
10pts win or 5pts EW on British, Irish & French racing, selected any day, Sunday through Saturday, the week ends on the last Saturday race. If selection is posted without specifying stake then 10pts win assumed.
Settled at SP, EW terms as industry standard.
Selections must be posted before scheduled race time. On Saturdays there will be a 3pm cut-off for selections, that is you may pick in any race after that but it has to be posted by 3pm.
Once you have posted a selection you are not allowed to change it or the stake, unless it becomes a non-runner or is a duplicate.
Non Runners - that team member may choose again for that week.
If you are selecting in a race on Saturday, in the event of a non-runner, you will automatically have 10pts win on the fav in the same race as your selection.

Sorry, am I missing something here? First of all, what is the point of this thread being on here instead of the horse racing forum? Secondly, the OP has said he has had 30/40 "methods" which have all lost, so why does he think that just laying short priced favourites at random can be a winning system long term? It can't.

Not by laying an endless stream of short priced favourites and hoping to get lucky, it can't.
I think you were on the right track Shane but my preference would have been to include an in-running back for a few ticks above the lay price. The back stake not intended to 'green up' but to reduce potential losses on the lay thereby securing a better lay price for less return.
The Art Of Legging says that shorties must be laid but it also says that one horse lays are not the answer. So my suggestion or laying another horse in the same race is worth considering.
