There is always a chance in golf that something mad happens. Someone signs for the wrong score, too many clubs in bag, disqualified for an obscure infringement of the rules (do folks recall the walrus being disqualified for "creating a stance" after an eagle eyed viewer phoned in?). These things happen and sadly it can be costly if you are on the wrong end of it and also incredibly fortunate if on the right end.
