Well, that didn't last long before going wrong.
Laid Cluj (v Celtic) when Celtic were 3-2 up at 79 minutes. Cluj equalised a few seconds later, and scored a winner on about 97 minutes ! The bet was Lay £2 @ 50, so loss of £98. Bank now at £20.71 Is the moral never to bet on Scottish football and/or mickey mouse teams ? Quite possibly... Will put the bank back up to approx £100, and try again Such is the fun of it. Just when you think maybe you've got it cracked, it turns around and bites you Glad I just do this for fun, anyway. Good luck all |

This amount of honesty is uncalled for.
Only post the winners.... ![]() |

Pecker's post made me smile on a miserably wet, grey morning.

Yes, made me laugh too. Far too many people ignore the failures. They are part of it - even if you're a professional, you'll get bad days.
For me, it's about having some fun. Even if I lose overall, if I enjoy doing it then that's OK with me. I see people and posts asking about going pro, making a living out of it. They're chasing a rainbow. It doesn't exist. Play with what you can afford to lose, and be happy if you don't lose it. That's all, really. Bank put back up - this time to £200 - and I'll probably just be playing with half of it at a time. Should probably start a new thread, but if this goes wrong a few more times I might end up cluttering up the whole forum ! |

Why not post on the footy 300 Bets Challenge thread? You seem to be doing something similar and may get some ideas from them.

Yup. Both Barca and Bayern lost - a real stinker - and I daresay you could have got huge odds on both those going the way they did.

You are laying at very very high odds.............and the inevitable will happen!
Backing at less ridiculous odds ....eg WOLVES to win BEFORE GAME STARTS should give you a better chance of making a profit.....IF you know your football. Very difficult to profit from football betting.......too many factors can ruin a bet! You are currently playing Russian Roulette with LAYING ..........bullet more than likely will come....but GL |
|
By:
Yes, that's certainly possible.
But ... last season I took my bank from just over £1000 to a bit over £1800, following a similar plan - I'd certainly not call it a 'strategy' or 'system', and betting in-play. |

A couple of very small lay bets over the weekend, seemed hard to actually get on any bets, the odds moving quite quickly.
Best one was managing to lay the draw in the City:Bournemouth game when the score was 3:0 at odds of 80, greened out nicely on that one too. Bank at the start of today : £216.71 I've been looking at tennis majors markets in the last few months, experimenting with a few theories with the way the market moves, might be doing some on there this week |

you should rephrase that. you do not KNOW anyone who makes it pay. i know at least three people who do, myself included, that makes four |

So, got my end-of-month 'bonuses' from the account. I don't usually do slots, etc, but had 25 free spins so used those to make some money into the account. Also had a £10 free sportsbook acca, which made a little bit more. The 2 free goes on 'beat the drop' are 15 bets / £32,000 starting point, used one (blew up on bet 3), and started the other one now. Chances of winning are probably close to zero, but that's the way it goes.
Anyway, after the bonuses, bank of £272.22 I didn't see many bets I liked on the US Open tennis, so didn't do anything there. Tonight, however, I did like Belgium's odds v Scotland - 1.42 struck me as a bit generous, considering how poor Scotland have looked recently. So backed Belgium, £100 @ 1.42. Currently 2-0 up. So that looks good |

Bank now £310.86

Nothing else last month, as we went to Australia visiting family for 17 days (Brisbane and then 3 days in Sydney to finish off). Jetlag is still a bit of a swine, even though got back last Sunday !
Anyway, let's see what the weekend brings ... |
