Dutching Formulae

its easy if you can understand odds & percentages

say you want to dutch 2 bets @ evs & 3/1

that's 50% + 25% = 75%, equivalent to 1/3

so if you want to win 100, you need to stake 300

50% as a proportion of 75% is 2/3 so the stake is 200 (2/3 of 300) on the evs shot and 100 (1/3 of 100) on the 3/1 shot

simples

Everyone does know (it's not obvious) the Betfair desktop betslip will dutch for you?

Just click on all the selections you want so they're in your betslip (doesn't matter if the stake is blank or a default stake if you use those).

Then click on the word 'Stake' above the stakes column (you're meant to be able to guess you can do this as it's in blue not black) and you'll get a box to enter your total stake - click OK and it spreads it across your horses in the right proportions.

Thanks longbridge. Of course you couldn't use it unless your min bet on the biggest odds selection was £2. Potentially expensive for the small better if you just want a saver at say 21.

Do any bookmakers have this facility, although I'd guess you're more likely to get best prices by dutching with different bookmakers?
