Far too many times while searching this site I see punters asking for prices on the exchange that are smaller than the available prices on the sportsbook so come on people get a grip.

Those prices are not available to everyone.

Feel free to arb away.  You will probably be doing those asking for under the Sportsbook odds a favour.

this is the game:

1- paddy/sportsbook go up first now late afternoon, any ricks are cleaned up by the nibblers(majority cannot get 2 carrots on)

2- some of the other "bookmakers" come in but your live one is now 2/3 points shorter, do you scramble round or wait for a drift.

3- 9.30 dodge hugh taylor, if he jumps on yours we fcked.

4- no drift, just prey your lad goes out on the exchange(unfortunately not)

5-do you take 2-1 on what was a 8-1 chance(not me)

6- horse hacks up Cry

7- try again tomorrow.

Depending on how much you want on, what the price the horse is and whether you not there are any race clashes you have a window of between 15 seconds and 5 minutes to have your bet at around the BSP level when the market is actually there for people to get on.

barton- you are quite a big punter,do you even bother looking at the evening prices.

must be heartbreaking taking way under the original odds on some fancies.

No, I find it best to treat the early markets as if they don't exist unless it is one of the top meetings where you actually have a chance of being put a bet on hours beforehand. E.g Cheltenham, Aintree and Royal Ascot (even then can't play certain races early and certainly not place markets any more).
