Does anyone know how the volume matched figure is calculated? Is it like on here or like they do on purple? Some big figures on there for football and horses.

Very good question? £2 on BF @ 1000 = £4 matched whereas on Daq = £2000, very misleading.

It seems to be taking off quite quickly as an exchange now - articles saying it had £111m traded on Cheltenham. But not sure whether or not to take that at face value. Also wondered about these select few market makers that provide much of the liquidity there. Say you offer a price and are first in the queue at that price, do you still have priority, or do these select few market makers take precedence? Read a report on a BetAngel forum about someone being banned a few years back as he was making profit from these market makers. Any info from traders or even bettors about how it works would be much appreciated.

£2000 on BF @ 1.01 = £2000 matched whereas on Daq = £20, I can see how it's misleading for you especially as most money is matched at lower odds, whizz kids.

£2000 on BF @ 1.01 = £4000 matched, not £2000.

And I don't know for certain but I thought on the 'daq it was £2020 matched (sum of backer's stake and layer's liability)?

smarkets in bed with a few market makers who request the banning of winners.

Not a Betting Exchange and not the answer for Betfair Exchange customers waiting on a new home.

Another post that sends the forum to sleep.

Which fact is wrong on my post?

a lot of smarkets liquidity comes from matched betting as well, they might struggle to keep the liquidity up as special offers/bonuses etc become harder to abuse in the future.

Westender I do feel the way forward is purple.Only because I see it picking up slowly and also
I can make a constant profit on there.
We need a new exchange.Betfair tonight on USA the tote has beaten the betfair sp and average price race after race and the
tote is no commision and can be backed with the bookies.
Doesnt mean you can lay on betfair and win on usa racing ,far from it.
The Betfair bots are in control and their mission is to give you low volume low prices low liquidity.
Betfair yet again a total shambles.

This place is finito unless there is a dramatic change in business strategy.

Looks like Pud Flower bought the Exchange to close it as they have done nothing to improve liquidity.

£40 at odds of 4.1 on Smarkets.

This is 40 x 4.1 = 164 added to the traded amount.

I bet and trade football match odds there and that seems to be doing very well.

I don't see why they don't add more markets now. Surely it's the next step.

You're probably very mistaken if you think purple is the way forward. Betangel posted in a recent video that they're contemplating getting rid of their Dak trading software because it's economically unsustainable. if that is the case, then purple will have to make some headway soon before Betangel and others remove their products.

Not as easy as that.

If something is matched at 100-1 on Betfair but crossmatched, then the amount is split.

E.g. £2 @ 100-1 is normally £4.
£200 @ 1.01 on an inverse selection is £400
Yet, if crossmatched, it's £2+£200 for £202 matched.

Purple has seen ZERO difference since the Lads takeover.

eg There is a pile of Women's Euro Qualifiers today including England and Scotland matches live on TV - Purple coverage ZERO.

Don't think Purple or Smarkets is  the answer for the Exchange customer base.

Comon entrepreneurs - get the finger out as the Betting Industry is crying out for new blood.

That finishes Smarkets as an Exchange business now as they also close accounts.

If the small punter put up a wrong price then it would be gobbled up with no comeback.

Smarkets is 1-4 large players seeding the markets - that is why winners are banned and the large players refunded.

Note to Smarkets - stick your shyte right up your arris and fook off.

newsflashhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Total scam company..just received new email from them now, guess seen my thread on here ?.

Further to my previous email and now that our investigation into the circumstances of this particular bet has been completed and I have sought the guidance of our compliance team, I have been informed that we may disclose that the bets in this case were the result of the opposing party's account being compromised. Whilst I understand that this is still a frustrating situation for you, we do not feel like any user of Smarkets should be penalised for the malicious actions of others and have taken the course of action we deem to be fairest in the circumstance.

Apologies that I could not provide this information whilst on the phone earlier, but our investigation was still being tied up and I wanted to have chance to speak to you personally before the end of the day. Please let us know if you have any further questions regarding this.

Kind regards,
David

Check their terms & conditions - if it was the other way round the small punter would be told hard luck.

FAO smarkets - you are not a Betting Exchange , never will be a Betting Exchange so fook off as you add ZERO value to society.

Put a few quid in there a couple of days ago with hope of doing some trading on Masters and Grand National.

The website is an absolute joke.

On markets where there are large numbers of selections, it grinds to a halt (much like the new site here did in the early days).

Navigation is incredibly slow and annoying, and I've also found a huge bug that makes the implied profit/loss figures on each selection completely wrong. Had to manually go through the matched bets to work out potential profit and liabilities.

Despite a modern and flashy looking website, the poor usability of the website make purple look state-of-the-art.
