Quite a few tweets asking where the markets are, I think you will find 'not on the exchange' is the answer. Carefully hidden away from view. It's sad to see Betfair do this.

All Australian markets were included on the In-Play coupons (Football, Cricket and Tennis etc) until January 2015 following the Paddy Power Mgt in charge selling the Betfair Australian Exchange in Augsust 2014. Don't put words in my mouth - I've never said anything of the sort.
I've explained to you many times why it makes perfect business sense to put the exchange in the slow lane, but you refuse to listen. Why would any businessman want to sell 'apples' to customers for pennies when they are prepared to pay a lot more ? As long as the mainstream markets ,(horses and football mainly), remain busy then myself and thousands like me will be more than happy. If your 'systems' no longer work because you have been squeezed out of the market then you need to adapt ...or die. |

By:
Paddy Power as a business offers zero value to society and I plus most of the others have adapted by spending our money elsewhere.
There was life before Betfair and people will survive no problem when it is long gone. Paddy Power has taken the cake and the BOTs are fighting for a reducing pile of crumbs by the week. Nobody will die when they get the same email (sent to customers in many countries already) within 3-5 years stating that the Betfair Exchange is closing in 2 weeks due to a business decision. You have failed to understand the bigger picture - every winner is being gradually squeezed out. ![]() ![]() |

Westie -
Shareholders loving the way PP running the business.Even with all of the market turmoil the BF share price hits another all time high ! Why not back your opinions , go for The Big Short!? |
|
By:
That email sent to customers in other countries is because those countries raised taxes on Betfair, is it not?
|
|
By:
Yes ^ or banned Betfair altogether along with other betting companies. Fine in the Uk

By:
I don't really get some of the points on this thread. As a customer the appeal of betfair has gone downhill and exchange turnover has fallen as well in recent years. It doesn't really concern me what the bf share price is!

By:
Well stated bingo - you have grasped it unlike many others.
Non shareholding customers gain zero benefit from the share price and zero benefit from Paddy Power killing the Exchange through diverting losing liquidity to the Sportsbook. Assuming the current trajectory continues, We will get an email within 2-3 years from Paddy Power stating 'that due to the increasing unpopularity of the Exchange Product, this will no longer be available by the end of next week. Please withdraw funds and goodbye.' Winners are being squeezed out one by one as there is no new customers replacing the hundreds of thousands who no longer bet on Betfair. It is mainly BOT v BOT until the last BOT is not making enough money and is turned off. The pile of crumbs for winners is reducing by the week as Paddy Power hide the cake and divert unsuspecting customers to the Bakers around the corner. |

Now and again i used to have a little dabble on the Aussie football but about 12 months ago for some reason i could not find an aussie high profile game on the daily in play list until i searched around for a few mins and found it hidden away,it does seem a rather bizzare decision to hide the Aussie matches on the exchange whereby you can easily find the azerbaijan league under 19s fixtures with peanuts in the market, are betfair bots not allowed to trade in Aussie markets i wonder !
