You will be missed rink rat. You were one of the few who liked my text pics on the basketball forum

The UK wll not be far behind Canada now that Paddy Power controls Betfair and the noose will be increasingly tightened to squeeze the final breath out of the Exchange.
See you on the other side when the next innovative generation of Peer to Peer betting website appears in the next 2-3 years. |

Cheers rr have a great one!

Looking at the betunfair football markets I thought everyone had left already.
![]() China doesn't need a betting exchange as they have professional Bookmakers who don't limit stakes such as SBObet and Maxbet. |
|
By:
will see usa racing markets with big gaps of missing Canada money due to banned in usa and passing on to over the borders
best of luck in life without betfair rink rat we may have matched each other untold sums lol all the best |

Clock ticking guys. Siwa your right. Why can't the world have the best Gambling exchange with the best gamblers just like the world has hospitals with the best doctors? The whole industry is in danger of pricing itself out of existence.
Keep those pics coming Joel, good stuff. Westender if you are a young fellow I feel your pain with todays gambling climate of uncertainty and unfairness. Chris- I believe a core of us maybe 20 to 50 , have been matching one another for most of the liquidity in US horse racing. However don't abandon Totes, I did for years and know it was a mistake. Some glorious payoffs on there. In closing what I will miss most is the ability to bet on games or matches when I turn on the TV. Aus tennis won't be the same this year. Guys it is a privileged spot to be able to play on here. Unfortunately the host knows this and makes you pay through the eyetooth to do it. For me it was worth it at any price. Take care. |

Why are you leaving? There's ways around every issue.

The exchange is over. The PC charge killed the exchange off.The founders didnt say a dickie bird only Mark Davies there to side with the exchange punters.
Betunfair as it is now called have ruined it for so many of us.Where was the gambling commision when the PC charge was hiked to 60%. What we need is a commision to investigate the gambling commission.Remember the old jockey club closing down and the HRA opening. All the major poker sites that we used to play on been closed down due to insiders looking at peoples hole cards and been protected from law inforcment by living on some tiny island in the middle of the sea. GREED has destroyed the exchange I am afraid. And all those who profitted from this should hang their heads in shame forever. There will be no solace for them in the after life on extreme pain. I am leaving too .Goodbye from lottaluck/pmbets. |
|
By:
Betunfair is a rancid outfit and the gambling commission is about as useful as an England football team at a major tournament.

To be fair the Gambling Commission can't rule on how much a public company can charge for it's services. The PC is an abhorrent surcharge but the exchange is the only time in history ordinary people can make money put of gambling. If that is the price we have to pay then so be it but I will always lobby to have it removed or at the very least reduced. To leave because of the PC is madness. And go where?

People who were on here making money can make easier money elsewhere - there is a big world out there with a plethora of business and employment opportunities.
As I stated before, VERY FEW (Less than 0.015%) make the MINIMUM WAGE PER HOUR SPENT ON BETFAIR and if you cannot, then do other things with your life and/or at least spunk your money on things that add value/pleasure to your life. Paddy Power Mgt has been killing this place since 2012 and it is nearly dead. |
|
By:
westender, what PC bracket are you in ?
|
|
By:
50% but irrelevant now as I only bet here as a place of last resort.
Was full time for 3 years but returned back to work 5 years ago and the best decision I ever made. The introduction of PC1 was enough warning for me of things to come. Not reliant on betting at all for income and not missing the isolation during the full time years. Betfair used to get 5% commission adding up to a decent sum and now get 50% of next to nothing. |
|
By:
I see . thanks for the reply .
|
|
By:
No problem mate.
No way I was going to continue risking money on here for example backing even money prices for a return of 4/9 after Betfair Taxes. Easier ways to make better money out there than on here. |
|
By:
|
|
By:
"not missing the isolation during the full time years."
i agree with you, that's the worst part |
|
By:
the worst part is being marginalized by stronger competition, than claiming to have left but instead staying on in disbelief, crying heavily while spraying the same nonsense all over the forum
and those so called "full time years" very often just serve as proxy for "in-between jobs" among the young males |
|
By:
Imagine working in a job and being told that from overnight your pay depends on you taking 100% risks with your own money but you are now only receiving 47.5% of your pay.
99.99% on here don't make the Minimum Wage PER HOUR SPENT ON BETFAIR and the above brings many of the very few into that category. Apart from the Betfair and Betfair Associates BOTs - very few Peer to Peer punters are making any decent Wonga on here. Yes it does happen with a few but 99.99% of a reducing pot of people are feeding the BOTs on a declining basis week by week. Under the same Paddy Power Mgt since 2012 - the fate of this particular Exchange in 2-3 years is obvious. |
|
By:
Imagine what you want fixed but only a fool would rely on this mob for an income.
Invest your wealth wisely, start up a business or retrain for employment before the plug is pulled. If you were captain of a ship that was heading for the rocks - would you bury your head and hope for the best? Any sensible person would see it coming and taking action to divert and in Betfair's case diversify your income sources so you have no reliance on Betfair for income. |
|
By:
If you can read above fixed, I use this place as a last resort for betting.
Why pay 52.5% HUGE BETFAIR TAXES on a win when you pay 2% to less than 5% elsewhere? Betting makes up less than 10% of my income with Betfair less than 1%. When Mr Paddy pulls the plug - big deal for me and hopefully for you. If you indeed are a full timer on here - sort yourself out. |
|
By:
Why are you so concerned with everyone else's welfare, westender? It's dog eat dog on here. Survival of the fittest etc, etc. Some people are still making plenty and the Betfair Exchange will continue even after the merger. There's no reason why it wouldn't. Some losing punters will prefer the exchange to sportsbook and why would any company want to turn down the risk free money from those people.
|
|
By:
It's dog v bots.

There are people on other threads on here recklessly advising people to pack in jobs to go full time on here.
In a climate of Paddy Power Mgt starving the Exchange of liqudity since taking over in 2012 and the fact that the Exchange can easily disappear overnight at the sight of an email within 2-3 years - people need to know the truth. Yomomma knows what has been going on since 2012, I know and what is coming is Purple 2006 -empty boxes and more empty boxes. Just sticking a realistic perspective on it the fear as I would hate someone to pack in a job when the odds are heavily stacked against them earning the MINIMUM WAGE PER HOUR SPENT ON BETFAIR and the Paddy Power deliberate management actions to reduce the Exchange pot for winners. The BOTs used to fight for a cake and people used to win the crumbs pre 2012. Now the BOTs fight over te crumbs which are reducing by the month. |
|
By:
Westender is one of the few people who know the truth. The truth is out there!
I read this on another thread; "Botfair where, 70% of business on the exchange is from Bots and that figure was quoted by Betfair to the New Jersey gambling authority recently I believe." |
|
By:
just hurry up and pull the plug due to pc sicking taxes can be a good thing over the road or a new punter v punter exchange what wrong with a cut of 5% of every 100 staked
greed got to betunfair/paddy |
|
By:
keep it simple a 5% on all bets wtf with 20% to 60 % meaning cant bet on here
they dont want us even sportbook down in peanuts cant bet |
|
By:
betfair bots maybe on pc free and 0% tax and watching and snapping the 20 to 60% players knowing that they cant win v betfair new betfair super bot website with their just 1 sec refresh and snapping up the all the money inside the 1 sec gap
|
|
By:
and follow the big winners within all times and cos they win and join in with zero tax
do that happen |
|

Eh?

it's actually been very busy on the football this last 2 weeks - not sure why , but lets hope it's a trend to stay .

The exchange is finished. Apasrt from one guy winning 6 figs and another guy losing 6 figs on the Killultagh Vic race, of course.
|
|
By:
Very concerning that Betfair haven't tried to get publicity out of this Killultagh Vic race though. It should be a massive publicity opportunity. Maybe Westender is correct :-(
|
|
By:
As I've posted on another thread 'one of our punters lost 6 figures large on Killultagh Vic' is hardly a message to sell the Exchange, is it?
