It's too late. No liqudity. Punters won't move en bloc.

Rewarding customers with lower commission as long as they don't match a bet ... genius move.

Think the move makes good sense in that it attempts to fill gaps. At the moment, you have to offer a price 1 tick or more worse than on here to get matched.
However, it's still just a desert over there. The prices are pretty much an illusion as nobody really 'takes' prices on purple anyway - you'll only get matched by a bot that's following the prices on here. Been looking at Smarkets last few days and been emailing them - their liquidity is provided by 'third party market makers' so it's pretty much illusionary as well. These 'market makers' are obviously just algorithms that follow Betfair's markets as well. If you're a proper bettor, who takes punts, it probably makes a lot more sense to go over to one of those, as there's often decent liquidity for big markets. If you use the exchange for other purposes, there's still nothing doing in either alternative. There's no fish to 'take' bets or even nibble, and you'll only get matched if it's a bot and the market has gone through your price. |

Liquidity on racing on the purple place is rising daily and is great on the feature meetings. It's perfectly viable to use them now on racing, couldn't do that a couple of years ago. Lots of upward momentum there.
Bit thinner on other sports. |

When did Betfair last do anything positive for the exchange? So although I don't have great faith in Bdaq at leat this is something.

Have been trying purple today and have asked to be layed at what the back price here and its working albeit very slowly.

Got the offer checked and they are still only offering mainstream. Useless.

mainstream ?? wtf is that

I got 2% last night with a lay of Rotherham pre match but in-play bets were 4.5%.

Credit to bet daq for at least trying. They have a new website and on first glance it's an improvement on the old interface for placing bets.
|
By:
Ironically the 2% offer has meant it is even more difficult to get a bet matched on there.

I detected a low level improvement in some cricket markets, instead of their having atrocious liquidity they may have improved to being just very very bad.
|
By:
the daq is improving albeit slowly. The 2% is helping a little. So well done to them but more prices put up there earlier.
|
By:
Should make it 2% on offer or fill. With all the "upheaval" on here that might get them going!
|

DIE LINKE - yes I agree with you. Everyone has become intransigent. You have to motivate both sides for it to work especially as the odds will be lower than on bf.

@dielinke
"Ironically"? Really? 'daq incentivise customers to place bets that don't match and you're surprised it's harder to get matched? |

just asked them again to add an antepost market (did ask for it 3 months ago), offered to deposit 10k to start pricing up the lay side.
Not interested it seems ![]() ![]() |
