Just having a look at some of these. It looks like bf are matching, for example a team to win in match odds with a team to win -1, -2 and -3 goals, at the same odds. If anyone is unfortunate enough to bet on these they are getting very poor odds and presumably bf are cleaning up?

"unfortunate" or downright daft?

I see that this is now on more sports other than just football, does anyone know which sports/markets are affected?

Are there now more markets where betfair are putting up terrible trap bets?

I don't but I'm going to ask them as I fear they're about to change the fabric of the exchange.

They're branching into Rugby Union for the World Cup.  So you'll see 'Which Group will the WC Winner Come From' be perfectly in line with the WC Winner market.  'First Time Winner' market will also be perfectly linked to teams in the WC Winner market which would be first time winners.  And so on.  They're hoping to have Match Odds and Handicap betting markets linked up by the Quarter Final stage.

In brief, I believe any market in any sport which can be linked/offer arbitrage opportunities will be 'perfectly' priced within a year or two.

As for trap bets, what do you mean?  I'm assuming the markets will be perfectly priced, no dodgy prices at all (unless the source market is incorrectly priced, which is most unlikely).

football asian handicap page is filled with betfair trap bets early on. it has something to do with the cross market cross matcher they have started to use. example: man city -1.5 is the same price as man city -0.5.

Yes and its the same on the individual +1,+2 and +3 markets. Now I would have to be daft to bet on these but bf shouldn't be giving me the opportunity - and these are obvious ones who knows what else is going on?

Ah, I see. Thanks.  Is that definitely them?  If so, that's incredibly shady.  I assumed prices would be perfect the moment XMXM was switched on for a market.

I'm sure it is. Same thing on every match.
