You may have spotted this post, over in the Chit Chat, Politics, Boxing and Football forums over the bank holiday weekend. I contacted Betfair Support to ask if it was ok to post this, and "they" said it was ok. But not everywhere or apparently the post gets deleted. It's not my intention to spam anyway!

I've been a long time Betfair member (see my profile: since 19 May 07), and a responsible one too. I'm reaching out to the good hearted people of Betfair, whom have had fun reading reading banter and exchanging posts on the forum, to take a moment and think of the recent destruction the Nepal Earthquake has done to the people and nation of Nepal. Also, many of you will know Nepal has provided the British Army with soldiers of great distinction, The Brigade of Gurkhas, still to this day for now 200 years for Queen and Country! It's the least we owe. Thankfully, my relatives are the lucky ones, but they have lost their homes, and now live in tents. And thousands are dead and have nothing.

I and most certainly the people of Nepal would appreciate greatly, if you could kindly donate to this (UNOFFICIAL) BF Nepal Earthquake Relief, dig deep, and perhaps on any winnings you make or a small portion of your available funds, consider making a contribution, every penny counts.
All proceeds will go towards GMIN UK*, who I have followed since they started, probably one of the most transparent charities working in Nepal that I have seen. All funds go straight at the grassroots of Nepal. They publicly share their accounts, and always report what they have been up to, so I have no doubt in the difference they are making. Appreciate you reading this far! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reply or message me personally.
Thank you.

Where are funds going?
Whilst the large organisations such as Oxfam and Red Cross have based their relief efforts in Kathmandu, we are working with local organisations closer to the epicentre of the earthquake. We have established contacts in Pokhara who have been travelling to villages in nearby Gorkha and are working with local officials and Nepal Police to provide aid to the victims.

Pushing the appeal again today, yet another major Earthquake at 7.4 on the Richter scale in Nepal :( I've wired £500 over to GMIN UK, they are very grateful and it will go directly into getting much needed tents, food and essentials to get people back up on their feet. I've put the aim down to a £1000 to be more realistic, but do come and surprise me Betfair fans!
