i was wondering if any trading software (as i've never used any) is able to detect if available money on a market is placed in 1 lump or several smaller lumps. or if there is any other way to tell. cheers.

bump. that's what i thought but a couple of conversations i have had with various other bookmakers has made me suspicious, probably just paranoid though

Custom software would be able to do this, though not with 100% accuracy.

Betfair don't give this data directly. There's no way to tell from an a single API call what the history of the money available is. It would be possible to monitor the changes in a market and infer that a large wager had been placed but this would be very problematic and would require quite a bit of programming for some probably not very useful data.
