Even worse now - maybe three out of every four or five generating the error.

What markets? I've been getting them regularly for last few months on Australian markets, so given the time of your post I wouldn't rule it out for being a cricket match this morning.

It's been off and on for the last hour for me. I assumed it was overloading because of Cheltenham.

Darlo - I was doing the Super XV rugby, so can confirm it was Aussie market related.  First time I've experienced it at that time of day....

Australian API regularly fails.

Yesterday morning was unbelievably bad for 4 hours for some of us in Sydney.

No evidence of Betfair bothering to fix this.

They certainly made out I was the only one with the problem. This thread and others I've read make it clear that there's a common problem.

Wasn't geeks toy withdrawn from sale because they couldn't get it working with the new api? Perhaps try some other software.

No, Geeks was temporarily offered free as the developer wasnm't happy with the quality it could offer after the new API was rolled out.

I'm seeing other software users complain, so not minded to swith software just yet.

And Australian API problems have now returned with a flourish, ahead of a potential huge day tomorrow.

It's clearly Betfair's problem, outside the control of any API developer.

looks like the current problem is caused by the API not gzipping the JSON responses, so probably only affects apps that need gzipped responses ... like mine, of course Sad

Different Aussie API issue this morning.  For ages none of the Aussie markets would load into Gruss, but there was no error message - they just weren't showing.  Now resolved after multiple "refreshes".
