General Betting

hello to all I want to share my experience about this matter and also need help.
first of all I have been happy customer for many years and never ever had problems. every time i read bad story about betfair I almost never trusted it. however it happened to me this time.
its about the basketball game Mobis Phoebis vs Goyan Orions played on 21/02/2015 - total points market 152.5 points. game ended 71-80, score was close to the line. there was no livevideo for this game neither on betfair or anywhere else, and i have no idea what happened, i only followed livescores. I have placed 13 bets during whole game last one was for 2089 eur. First bet were counted as lost and i made a complaint, on fourth day i was told that and there was no official letter from betfair for anything wrong with game. On same conversation on chat i was told bets were finally void instead of settled as won.
there might have been problem with this game because lines were loaded switched.
well in my betting experience with estimated 500 000 placed bets on betfair, i have seen so many cases with switched lines and never voided. I also have seen many mistakes like instead of Team A -18pts it was loaded Team A+18 pts and it was counted and traded again from customers. i will understand this matter if lines were 192.5 pts or 252.5 pts and game ended with 151pts to say it might be void. But even so i doubt betfair would void it becose they never did.
I have collected few such cases in my betting history and first my question is - can you share your cases when you were in same situation and bets were not voided? i will appreciate a lot that.
I think its not fair in 99 cases not to void because of same circumstances and in my case to void this game. Anyone disagree here?
Also i have read all their rules and there is nothing about voiding bets becose of switched lines and that happens every week few times:
Your bet was matched unfairly due to a late suspension i.e. Late bets matched unfairly after the start of an event or after a goal or red card in a Football match.
The market was malformed i.e. The market contained an incorrect team, selection, number of winners, or was otherwise created using incorrect information.
i have received 2 times emails from them and i asked 10 questions and they just don't answer on them and this is very disturbing:
1. based on what rules bets were void? do you always void such bets?
2. why in 100 cases they never void and in this first time they void?
3. what rules states that lines has to be always the same
4. why there was no official email for voiding this bets? i have checked my email and in past emails came within same day in max 4 hrs.
5. score is 1 pt bellow line how can you state trading is not fair? i have placed bets during whole game - and that were bets against other bettors.
6. is there a rule we can do what we want and when we want in 100% same cases?
7. in first email they said it has caused people to bet wrong, in second they stated it might has caused, i wonder what they will write in next email. Were there any complaints from other customers for this game to make them void the bets?
we all know that inplay markets are never regulated in non football section. i have many times miss clicked and instead of of 1.5 i had put 1.01, or instead of back i put lay. or even mistakes of wrong livescores - 3 weeks ago game Seoul thunder vs Seoul Knights with line 139.5 livescore said first 76-74 and then 76-73 but they didn't void. so what exactly happened in this game i have no idea - was it miss click or was there a basket after regulation that was not counted or whatever.
I all know i have risked 100 eur and might have lost them but in my case won and i PROBABLY has taken money from somebody i should not do. this guy comes on every single basketball game and takes all the 1.01 lays with 2000 pounds. So he win every game 20 pounds. imagine how many games there are every day/ week. But when he wins is fine, but when he loses we can void game becose only he did a mistake. I want also to have same comfortability from betfair, don't you guys aswell?
So i need help on this matter in 2 points:
1. can you guys name me other such cases where betfair did not void bets because of switched lines.
2. can you help me to contact Supervisior because i don't believe in fairness of this trader/s that has taken this decision - somebody should control them in such cases. i Just don't buy explanation each cases is separate and we can decide what we want. everything about this game is fishy.Its not betfair i have trusted so many years its BETUNFAIR. im also object of premium charge and they might have won from this case 400 pounds, that's also strange.
those are fair won 2200 eur and they don't want to pay them
i also can upload photos with prove for all this but you see all that in betfair data they publish.

betfairs emails are all the same - we have void this time but no explanation about my questions so I really doubt there will be any change from internal. i know what will be next answer :
- voiding bets is fine because lines are switched. we dont know how in past happend that bets were not void in same cases it will not happen again etc etc. i suspect that the guy/s i have matched the bets is some vip customer and betfair doesnt want to lose him because he has 50k in his account and so on. i just hope that in future you thread fair all small customers and show that you care for us and not only for the big customers that make mistake or use wrong livescore . i know that im right because i have huge experience with betfair. and i have traded this game 2 hrs with all the other guys and when a vip customer comes it changes the game. so end of the story i will seak elsewhere my rights if still somebody wants to help in this matter he is welcome |

It will be a massive arse covering exercise. I suspect the powers that be will be unaware of what has happened on some of the previous occasions that you have mentioned and hence the decisions made. If you can prove inconsistency from Betfair with identical situations then take them to IBAS where I think you will have a strong case.

when you say the lines were switched you mean normally under is in the top row and over in the second and on this occasion they were reversed ? if so why on earth would they void for that ? as long as the selections are clearly labelled it shouldn't matter which order they are loaded in.

You probably have won directly from betfair as there is massive increase of bots run by betfair(tennis, basket). Thats the reason they dont pay you. You won against company whose bot made a mistake. So its void , obviously :) Look up my thread. P2P is past. Its P2B in most cases now.

sure I can prove many many cases because this happens very often.
the most bizzare case I have bet was back at 2008 Olympic games in wrestling freestyle 72 kg women’s. Xu Wang refuses the participation in the Olympics and on her place in this weight comes Jiao Wang. Both players have family names as you can see. Jiao Wang won and people bet on Xu Wang, as you all know Chinese has many names. But that wasn't the case. So that mislead people. So we had a bet with wrong selection and we had no winner. And what betfair did, you can imagine? NO VOID you can google for this case there is also a players complaint right here : http://forum.bettingadvice.com/showthread.php?t=32790 as mention switched lines they offer many many times. also I have a phone call recorded from support and the guy stated there is nothing wrong with the lines they just have to settle the market manual as in past this occurred. betfair publishes data as you all know and if you google in them in basketball section you see so many such cases where was no void. because switched lines doesn't mean wrong selection. do you need more cases? so what do you advice me to do in my case? @parrys can share your cases aswell thank you |

it's never happened to me so cannot share anything but it sounds like you definitely have a case.
if I understand you there was 2 outcomes, over 152.5 points and under 152.5 points and you placed some bets and got it right ? I cannot see how they can void just because the selections were in the wrong order. The order is completely irrelevant unless your running a bot. I asked them if that might caused problems for people using API and they said no there cant be a problem, it was all fine. that stated a guy on a phonecall. I had no idea what exactly happened in last seconds was there a basket that didn't counted or was it wrong livescore, or somebody miscounted like it happened to me as well - f.e. 148+3 = 153 that a mistake in a hurry. once again score is 1 basket below the line not 100 pts - it everything possible. buf if betfair trading team states somebody didn't see that they must be a complaint. and for this guy/bot is always win - win situation - he has fastest livescore but when he made a mistake he cant lose. don't you want to be on his place?
@dave1357 can you share where is the difference ? thank you for all the support here, I still cant believe that this happened to me, I referred betfair in past to so many people. |
