Has bf been hacked, or someone at bf not tested an update? Or, hopefully not, I have a virus :(

Thanks, I will contact them... If you right click, and select "view source" it looks really dodgy (looks hacked for sure to me now that you have confirmed you are seeing the same).

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. The company we use to rent the service site placed these adverts on there about 2 weeks ago, I'm led to believe.
As we don't actually own it we cannot pull them down ourselves, but have contacted the site to have them removed.
Once again, thank you for highlighting this.

Cannot be long before they launch silly casino games, ban most customers from the forum, reduce live video coverage of sports, start up a Sportsbook and hike up charges for customers.
What on earth is happening at Betfair these days? Cannot be long before they launch silly casino games, ban most customers from the forum, reduce live video coverage of sports, start up a Sportsbook and hike up charges for customers.
I am surprised by the lack of response to this (on the forum), as in my opinion this is a pretty serious issue (if someone can inject links into a website it wouldn't be difficult for them to inject some server side scripts and fire them from a client, this could compromise the whole site/databases).
I have just checked and the issue is still there!!!
I didn't pursue this any further with bf because I don't trust a word of it... I have always been ultra cynical but sometimes it pays ;D
Here is a whois lookup if anyone was interested...

I actually looked up the whois on your first post and picked up on Registrant Email:andy.steward@betfair.com
Given that I have no idea what this means

Do they control the domain or not?

When you 'view source' for that page, the junk text in there looks very dodgy !
It's typical Betfair to claim they have no control over a website which is meant to be quickly updated in the event of website problems / maintenance. (Of course, it never was updated in time and so was never of any use)

The third party that hosts the 'service.betfair.info' site have been contacted. The site has been remediated and is now back to normal.
Moving forward we are working on creating a more dynamic page to provide updates, and retiring the ‘service.betfair.info’ page.
