How much I love betfair ideas of giving me any discounts- that I hate, holidays -that I don't need and generally complicate things that are simple. I changed my strategy at the end of the last year. I'm generating less points(commision), basically I'm less active at the markets.
Because of that strategy my points level dropped from:
62000 on 19.10 2014 to 27000 on 12.01.2015
My discount rate as I rememember was at 40% and I was paying 4% of commision.
Nowadays Im paying 3.2% commission with discount rate 32% is taht how it works?
Les you play, lower commission you pay?!

No.

If you are on 40% discount that's a 3% commission rate.

On 27,000 points you should be on 3.6% commission.

I figured it out. The reason for discount is :
Darren B.: Hello welcome to Betfair you are chatting with Darren B.. How can I help?
You: Can someone have a look at my commission rate?
You: When I had 60000 pts I was paying 4.0%
You: When I have 30 000 I pay 3.4%
You: Shouldn't it work in opposite way?
Darren B.: Sorry please can you explain further. the more points you have the less comission you will pay.
You: It does work in opposite way in my case. Look at my account.
You: 20.10.2014 60 000 I pay 4%
You: Today 30 000 pts I pay 3.4%
Darren B.: ok i see let me look into this for you. Can i have your username.
You: I dont need that pseudo discount as it increases my premium charge
You: xxxxx
Darren B.: the reason for the increase is that you are now KYC'd before this you were capped at 20% not you have been you commission rate is not restricted.
You: So becasue Im confirmed customer Im paying less commission, but more premium charge?
Darren B.: looking at your account i can't see that you pay the premium charge.
You: what?
You: I dont ?
You: are you really looking at my account?
You: Premium Charges (exc. last week)    £    28,205.90 !!!
You: I guess this section doesnt show the free bets that Ive received from betfair, doesnt it?
Darren B.: i have looked at your account statement and i can't see this shwoing
You: ahh.. shame
You: Am I just punished for being confirmed customer?
Darren B.: Ok i have just run the prem charge report report and i can that yoi have paid in the past. sorry my account statement only go back 3 months
You: I can see that you dont play at betfair privately.
You: Am I just punished for being confirmed customer?
You: You giving me discount on commision, but instead my premium charge increases ?
Darren B.: no but though this will increase you chases of paying the premium charge it means you pay less on you winning bets.
You: What a joke
You: Its much harder to generate the commmission
You: I have to pay more money in pemium charge because I have less expenses
You: commison genaerated for premium charge customer is like expense
You: less expensses I have the bigger premium charge it is .
Darren B.: as you know premium charge is work out so the customer pays back at least 20% so if you pay less commission you will likely have to pay the charge but paying higher commission rate means we get are money that way.

"You: I dont need that pseudo discount as it increases my premium charge"

Just to let you know, it is better to be on a lower commission rate as a PC payer.

For example, say you have £1k gross in winning markets and £900 in losing markets.

your charges on various commission rates:
comm + PC on various commission rates
5% £50 + £1.50
4% £40 + £6.50
3% £30 + £11.50
2% £20 + £16.50

So as a PC payer you are still rewarded for increasing the amount of commission you pay.
