Im not sure which is best i know you could get double odds one winner in lucky 15s at one time.
Pause Switch to Standard View Yankee or Lucky 15 which is better...

Union jacks are better than both .

never been good Yankees 6 doubles in the bet are the downfall, far better to cut the bet down to 4 trebles and a 1 acca 5 bets, if you must do 4 singles instead of 6 doubles

There is no value in multiples . Value in the gambling sense that is. They are great fun but not value.
Every element you add to a bet reduces any apparent value there may have been in the first place.
Do not fall for the nonsensical idea that the value of each selection is multiplied. That idea is for cretins.

Suggest that you go back to the basic principle of gambling value and you will see why.

if you back a 4 horses in a lucky 15 at early prices  6-1    7-1   8-1   9-1

and they return       4-1   4-1     5-1 and 5-1  YOU HAD FANTASTIC VALUE .
Report racingguru January 9, 2015 10:09 AM GMT
There is definitely value in multiples if you you have positive expectation about each selection ie: backing at better than real odds.

Downfall in realty is most people who do multiples wouldn't know if they did have positive expectation plus they invariably take less than best odds on at least one selection.

as a rule  you get what you pay for, a yankee is 11 bets you pay for 11 with no bonus, l15  15 bets  but  up to 3x odds for oe winner (obviously best part of bet) and  various bonus for all 4 winners. I recently  copped all 4 and got over £200 for the 10 % bonus.takes no thinking about really lucky 15 gives better (even if not wonderful) value than Yankees.

disagree
with last post the lucky fifteen was made for punters to put level stakes on all bets so you have same amount staked on 4/some as singles and doubles, if I was betting four horses and really fancied them then yankkee is better bet by far, lucky fifteen if you are betting bigger prices and betting ion hope more than confidence.
Report sickoflayinwinners January 11, 2015 8:04 PM GMT
no need to back big prices in lucky 15, if you back4 3/1 chances, one winner at triple odds returns  9 of your 15 units (unbdoubtedly the best value  part in any multi bet) Yankees you get what ypu pay for n more
Report sickoflayinwinners January 11, 2015 8:05 PM GMT
actually 10 of your 15 bets

the six doubles out of the 11 bets in a yankee is a big no no at short prices, never pays long term
Report sickoflayinwinners January 13, 2015 2:20 PM GMT
o0k, I had  all 4 vwinners in a lucky 5 a few months ago, I took 3/1  9/4 9/4 and 2/1, they went off 11/8 13/8 and 7/4 twice. s it happens they all won(never had that happen before).if  id had 1 inner at the prices I took, worse way I was getting 7 of the 15 units back.if  you wouldn't want that bet then  I find it hard to see what you see as value got over 200 quid in bonus.longterm id like that bet 3 times a day everyday.

Over a period of time there would be nothing
in it. Test out with say, 4 even money chances
perhaps on football, that is 0, 1, 2, 3 or 4
winners, slow and laborious but you will get there
in the end.

I love multiple bets they got me interested in gambling.  In a multiple bet the value or lack of is compounded, which is why thieving ew doubles are such a good bet.

dunlaying

So if a punter chooses to combine two selections where he/she is getting evens instead of the correct price of 1/2 the place that would make them an idiot?

Please enlighten me/us
Report kenilworth January 29, 2015 8:24 PM GMT
The difference is the fact that the yankee is a lucrative
bet for bookmakers to lay and so they offer bonuses of
miniscule value to entice the punter to bet the 'Lucky 15'
Any bet which encourages the punter to lay out 15 units
instead of 11 has to be of doubtful value, so regards which
is best, neither to be honest. GL.

Quite a few bookies do 3x the odds for one winner on a Lucky15, it's a no brainer to me.
Report kenilworth January 30, 2015 6:37 PM GMT
They are both fun bets, as are any bet
promoted by bookmakers. I made a living
for years from those type of bets, from
the right side of the counter I may add.
