Just had an email from SBO that they are closing accounts from 15 September. I think 12Bet is doing so as well.

I think its in relation to the new point of consumption tax in the UK (also affecting companies registered in Gibraltar and Isle of Man).

Looks like we'll have to bet with Pinny now.

Will Pinny get a license?  One of the stumbling blocks appears to be that the Gambling Commission insist that their licensees don't operate substantially in grey markets.  In the poker world it might mean for example that the Russian market gets dropped by the large networks or they withdraw from the UK.

Sbobet were my favourite bookmaker. They don't limit accounts and regularly have huge arbs. Feel like I've been shot. 12bet were excellent aswell, had an account with them for a good 3 years.

Yea I was a big fan of SBO, tightest AH lines and many lower league matches (which Pinny doesnt cover).

One stumbling block is revealing who the true owners of the company is.

Pinnacle is gone for all accounts that link to UK. As I have an Australian Pinnacle account I can still bet with them but not with an ip address from the UK. So it looks like it is back to the VPN's everyone in Australia use to get around the in play laws in Australia. So if you want to bet with Pinnacle, just open an Australian account, and mask your ip.

Pinny want id and address proof on opening account, so pointless trying to open a foreign account
