Called in Corals where I am a code red customer, picked a couple out and asked for £20 @20/1 and £25 @16/1 on a couple of selections. Cashier went into back office to phone up and refer the bets. I quite clearly heard her say hes stood at till number2, this isnt the first time this has happened last time it was till 1. I turned my back to them straight away and the Girl said hes got his back to the counter now, so I walked away out of view.
Are they allowed to do this? Im doing nothing illegal and will they circulate my picture round other Corals shops?
Its very poor form but it will obviously be  a waste of time complaing.

OH, and its legal............with the amount of legislation that has been pasted world wide since 911, the only thing that is private now is your THOUGHTS

And rightly so too.

How are Corals to know that J.O.Tobin is not planning to fly a plane into their betting shop? You can't be too careful these days.

They are on the lookout for people nicking pens.  They probably had you down as a pen thief JT.  Code Red simply refers to someone who bets with L@dbrokes.

£45 for a pen is steep imo Clydebank Laugh

I am also a code red customer at Corals. You may be perfectly correct in what you are saying but I often hear the "he's on till 2", "he's on till 1" but this is also often "I'm on till 2", "I'm on till 1" and I interpreted this as they had my history and figures up on said till, and this was able to be accessed by their head office traders.

Billcarr is spot on. The cctv isnt that high tech, it just records on dvd.  When the cashiers on the phone the trader is asking if they have your profit/loss details up on the screen, and so then the csshier replys yes till whatever number till  they are on, the trader then remotes in to the till to see whats on the screen and makes his decision based on your figures

what records could they have for cash transactions relating to a person if they don't know him/her
Report yuvutu March 19, 2014 1:25 PM GMT
none whatsoever. if you are unknown to staff and you trigger a limit and the staff ring up, the trader will ask if your a regular, answer will be no and so i assume the traders decision will just be based on whatevers goin on his end/what he thinks. sometimes it will be a 'he can have £50 quid on' and sometimes it will be a 'oh lets give him a chance let him have the £3-400 on he wants, but make a note of him and his bets'. your bets will be noted and so if your ever seen again (and its the same staff member who recognises you) then obviously when that staff member rings up the answer will be yes ive seen himm before his figures are on till 1 (most people i note down are never seen again!)

I can't even go into any shops around my neck of the woods.  Haven't tried in ages, but used to just get told to leave by the manager.  Even if I'd wanted to play the FOBTs or fruit machines they'd have booted me.  The staff had my picture and had been told to turf me out if I tried to go in to get a bet on.  Not sure if they were worried I'd tell other punters what to bet on or what, but they really, really didn't want me in there.

It's pretty rude, but legal enough.  Their shop, so they can allow/bar anyone they want.
