My internet connection kept disconnecting and i tried all sorts of things without success.. but worse was to come i accidentally deleted my Microsoft Office/Excel. I used System Restore and the folder and files i needed are still there but when i click to open i get the message 'something went wrong we couldn't start the program' and 'there was a problem sending the command to the program'. It appears i have lost years of data. Is there anything i can do at all? any help would be greatly appreciated. tia
How did you 'accidentally delete Excel"? What steps did you take to do that? It's important to know what you did so that it can be undone. Your Excel files are probably all fine and dandy, you just need to get Excel reinstalled or it could simply be a case of reassociating Excel files with the Excel program itself. Over to you.

Office was installed on the laptop when bought. It was mistakenly uninstalled and after a system restore the files are there but not opening. The initial problem was a problem with our connection...an engineer came on Monday and the connection rose to it's proper full speed but my laptop had/has been continually disconnecting. My wife's laptop has had no similar problem. After trying to read as much as i could to find a solution and looking at countless videos online still no luck. Windows Update hasn't been updating either. But today after watching a tutorial on Youtube i think Windows finally updated but no other problems have been fixed. It's driving me doolally! Any help would be at this stage heaven sent...thanks for any help posted. ~Cheers.

You really need to back up your data ca. once per week, either to another PC/laptop or an external hard drive. Like somebody else said, you may have uninstalled the software. You should still be able to see your files in windows explorer.
