"Credit Suisse has downgraded its rating for online gambling group Betfair from 'outperform' to 'neutral', saying that a 'pause for breath' is needed after the stock's recent strong run.

"Last month's H1 underlying earnings were slightly ahead of expectations, providing further evidence that the turnaround is on track. However, the shares have performed strongly, and the inclusion of start-up losses related to the US and Italy, combined with lower pricing expectations, reduces our […] target price to 1,085p (from 1,185p)."

Personally I don't think the city have a clue as to its value and follow reports like this like sheep

Yes it looks like these analysts come up with a theory as to where the price should go.If it goes uop from £10 they will say they were right.
If the stock heads down towards £8.50 some other analyst will come along and downgrade the stock and come up with another explaination as to why they think a stock is weak.
The people in at the IPO have never earned a penny and looks like they never will.
The price going down is a worry and I would say it goes down further. Why?Who knows but the direction is telling the story.

Yes, analysts can come up with a lot of theories.  Reckon combination of reasons for price going down; losing the company focus; lot of pressure on the guys at the top who have to  keep the shareholders happy and the customers happy, (need to get back to putting the customers first, without them you don't have a business); it was floated at a bad time and over-valued; and then there is the PC; some of these factors must be to blame for share price falling but I'm not an analyst !

It's falling for the same reason a sport market would. If you have X as an option and info comes out that X has certain problems then the price on X will react accordingly.

The question is if the analysis given is correct, do you buy or sell at the current price? Same nonsense we go through every day but with no specified end date.
