BBC connected TV coverage

I notice the Beeb plan to use this and their website much more than the red button for the winter olympics. IIRC from the snooker and so on their website streaming usually has a pretty considerable delay on it (not as bad as Sky's but still enough to render it pretty useless for betting purposes). Does an identical delay apply to their connected TV offerings?
