I know this issue is chewed here hundred times already and I'm reading all of it for whole day but still have few questions.
After 2.500 events in three years I'm afraid that from next week PC is certainty. One presumption below and if you can throw your opinion. Let's suppose now I'm much experienced, less prone to errors, etc. and I open new account.
- few month passed and I got involved in 249 events (first condition for PC in this case still not satisfied) - all bets are wining and profit is let's say 200 k (lifetime is positive and 2nd condition is satisfied) - I have flat 7 % commission and it's payed accordingly 14 k which lead us to ratio under 20 %
Will I have to pay PC or number of events involved will save me even profit is extremely huge...
Don't get me wrong, I'm not interested in one another debate about fairness of PC, impact on future of BF, etc. It's everything clear with that and I'm just trying to find way to avoid being robbed. Was studying other exchanges for some time yesterday but it seems that they all together don't have 10 % of BF liquidity..
AFAIK they don't let you open other accounts to avoid PC as that's the obvious way round it, if they find out they'll "nail" you for it. Not sure myself what I mean by that, maybe they'll link accounts or ban you or whatever they feel like, I don't know. But I do know they check for this sort of thing as I've read complaints about it on this very forum, including people saying they've had truble because another family member has another account etc.

Will my account be affected by the Premium Charge? Updated 27/08/2010 09.30 AM You will only be considered for the Premium Charge if, over the lifetime of your account, you satisfy all of the following criteria: Your account is in profit; Your total charges generated are less than 20% of gross profits; and You bet in more than 250 markets Two further conditions reduce the likelihood that you will be required to pay the Premium Charge: Any single win that constitutes more than 50% of your gross profits over the lifetime of your account will be excluded from the calculation; and Each customer has a lifetime allowance of £1,000 of Premium Charges which can be incurred before any Premium Charge is paid. Each week the customers who meet all the conditions set out above will be charged the lesser of: The difference between 20% of the previous week’s gross profits and the total charges generated during the week; and The difference between 20% of gross profits and the total charges generated during the lifetime of the account. Please note that for the purposes of calculating the charge we will assume that the charge has been in place since Betfair launched in June 2000. This means that we will consider all customers to have generated charges equal to at least 20% of lifetime gross profits as of the 12th October 2009. However, this also means that for some customers, some or all of the £1,000 allowance against the charge will have been used prior to 12th October 2009 in order to offset hypothetical charges paid. The assumption that hypothetical charges, less allowance, were paid prior to the introduction of the Premium Charge will typically reduce the Premium Charge a customer would incur.
If you have only bet in 249 markets over the lifetime of your account you will not be considered for PC. As Just Checking says I would forget any thoughts of opening up a second account to avoid PC. If they link the accounts (which they probably will) they will look to charge you for the PC which they feel you have tried to avoid.

And what tools they are using to do that? If it's not someone from your household / family with same address and same number of fixed telephone line how can they know that? That would be pure presumption that can't be proofed in any way.
Or there is some clause that allows them to decide that one way without any further explanation?
