General Betting

I publish the picks on www.pickradar.com. The affiliate links aren't generating any profit and I don't want to spam the website with large ads. Nor do I want to charge my visitors for my picks (ever). I've tried multiple identities but I get shut down so quickly everywhere.
Any idea how to make it pay or should I seek new pastures? Genuine advice or ideas will be appreciated.

No wonder you are getting closed down so quickly if your visitors are betting the same profitable picks as you! They'll think the accounts might be linked.

One account I had was restricted because I tipped a friend of mine up on one of the bets I was having. That's only 2 people in widely different parts of the country, from their own separate isp and computer, placing the same bet 15-20 minutes apart, restricted because of one common bet.

It was an ew bet on Brigetta Barrett at 50/1 ish for the 2011 WC HJ so they would have been unusual bets and mine would have probably been a marked account. She lost unsurprisingly, I was taking a chance on her as I thought she had potential and could PB. She subsequently came 2nd at the 2012 Olympics and 2013 WC so I was right about her potential, she just wasn't quite ready and didn't perform on the day in 2011. It was stupid of me in hindsight to give him the tip.

There are at least 3 books out there who are proper Bookies and are prepared to trust their odds-compilers :
Pinny 5Dimes Tab.com.au These will all stand a decent bet and Pinny proudly boast that winners are welcome (Like Betfair used to do  ).In short, avoid the European filth and have a look at the US/Australian facing books. |

I've seen your site and the two football bets are in 2nd tier Japanese and Turkish Leagues. It's no wonder you get shut down so quick!

I had a look at 5Dimes and they seem to pay out on track odds ... i.e. official tote starting prices. That hardly makes them a "proper bookie" and they would not appear to have their own "odds compilers", at least on horse racing. |

The Australian TAB (tab.com.au) has a tote product which works much the same as the U.S.A. betting system i.e. pari-mutuel. Because the tote can never lose, they'll take bets from anyone, including professionals. It also has a fixed odds product, but punters who use that product will be banned if they are consistent winners, just like nearly every other corporate bookie. The only way around it is to place your bets in cash at TAB agencies, which means you'll need to be in Australia. You'll also need to have lots of different disguises and go to a lot of different agencies, because if they recognise you and they know that you're a winner they'll tell you that your bets are only welcome on the tote product. |

I never bet on Horses and as the OP`s picks are Football I don`t see the relevance of TOTE or Track prices. Both 5Dimes and Sportstab continue to accept bets from winning accounts without restriction - at least in my case. When I compare their behaviour to that of the Eurotrash (some of whom have shut me down within hours) I can only conclude that 5d/TAB are "proper bookies" and the Eurotrash is just trash. Presume you approve of Pinny..(?) |

I see your point, Raps. Fair enough. I see everything through the eyes of a horse racing punter, hence my references to "track prices". Let's just say that when it comes to horse-racing, 5Dimes is not, strictly speaking, a bookie because they don't assess their own prices, nor do they give fixed odds. Fixed odds is the crucial component that makes a bookmaker a bookmaker in my opinion.
Then there is the willingness of a bookie to take bets from anyone and I agree with you wholeheartedly about the Eurotrash. Sadly the Eurotrash have taken over most of the Australian on-line betting industry. Our only genuine bookies are on-course, but they are becoming extinct. They are required by law to take bets up to a certain liability, so they just can't compete against the trash. Most of their business is done with punters who've been banned by the trash. I'm surprised Sportstab haven't closed you down. Good luck with that. Long may it continue  Pinnacle seems to be genuine enough. Sadly they don't do American horse racing, which is my only betting interest. And from what I just read on Wikipedia, the f***ing Republicans declared a "war" on internet gambling a few years ago to stop Americans from betting on internet gambling sites outside the U.S.A. As a result much of the on-line interest in American racing has declined. |
