I've not seen this before, but someone on Twitter posted this link www.betfairex.com which takes you directly to the exchange.  Assuming this is new, do you think www.betfair.com will remain as it is (i.e. the Sportsbook with a small link to the exchange) and they're about to start using this new address for the exchange?

I've just seen this:

http://betfair1.uservoice.com/forums/192891-exchange/suggestions/4191888-make-the-homepage-the-exchange-and-not-the-sportsb?tracking_code=33c6a2a7cd575b27071182529d296bb6

In recent weeks we have made a number of changes which will make getting to the Exchange easier.

(i) You can now navigate directly to the Exchange by going to www.betfairex.com

(ii) We have started the roll out of our new site header which highlights better the way into the Exchange. Early results from the roll out have indicated an increase in traffic into the Exchange.

the more I think about it, the more it seems to me that BF's fundamental error with the sportsbook was launching it under the same brand as the exchange.

Maybe makes sense? Would make spreading the load across websites easier as well surely if it was a different site.

Not a measure I'm against actually (for once!) by betfair recently.

The  www.betfairex.com just redirects to www.betfair.com/exchange anyway JC, the url you use makes no difference whatsoever if they're using the same servers. Any problems they have with the site is due to capacity issues not which url you use to access betfair exchange or otherwise.

But if going forwarded they flipped it so betfairex became the actual host and betfair.com (exchange) started redirecting to the new site, they could have betfair.com in hawaii and betfairex in japan. Although I'm sure login and etc is common but .. they could in some ways split the loading.

Unfortunately it directs you to the new site.. which is still a shambles.
