2.5 by far because I believe it's generally about evens. 0-0 is a popular market is an equivalent to 0.5 really but 0.5 was only added more recently and gets a tiny % of the volume. And it's strangely (old site) way down the order so you can't see it, which doesn't help.
People don't even say over 2.5 on the football forum "overs" MEANS "over 2.5". |

Hi mate thanks for clearing that up for me, i'm trying to put a system together but was thinking it would be either over 1.5 or 2.5 but the 2.5 offers better value. Just trying to work out now what leagues are best to follow ie which has lots of goals in it. Germany and Spain seems to attract a lot of goals but could i find value in leagues like greece. I don't want to bet on anything but i would like to find a few leagues to go on. What would be a bigger importance head 2 head fixtures or ie current form past 4 homes vs past 4 aways for example, Thanks

Oh wouldn't like to give advice on that ;) Certainly though germany will have a lower o2.5 expectation than greece for sure. But as you say value might be in greece.
The .. if you are on the exchagne then you can see the traded volumes etc VERY easily? On the old site it's the little graphy symbol next to the team name on the market? e.g. man utd tommorow, u2.5 at this second: Total matched on this event: £12,514 Betting summary - Volume: £5,410 under O.5 Total matched on this event: £8,986 (so a lot more matched on over 2.5, a surprising large amount!) Betting summary - Volume: £4 And 0-0 is Total matched on this event: £27,681 (so that's all correct score permutations) Betting summary - Volume: £3,375 (this is 0-0 itself) |

Hi mate no worries its a lot to take in what you posted above :/ . I have a lot to learn i must admit, but i do know a lot about football and follow it everyday. I guess your saying if u can read a market it can give you an edge on what people think may happen !
By:
No what I'm saying is you can see the volumes traded, the graphs, the amounts waiting on the various odds, amounts traded on certain odds.
If you're going to do any analysis you should be looking at all that. There are graphs for every line ijn every market, for free, right now. |
By:
Oh yeh i can see it all now, but i dont really understand how it all works, sorry :/
By:
Just watch them and have a think. There's volume traded @ e.g. odds of 2.12, the amount waiting to be traded at say 5.1 (peoples unmatched money) and graphs tht show the odds in time going left to right, with a BAR graph overlayed over same graph that shows spikes of money going in. So e.g. 1000 gets suddenly backed in you get a spike of (strangely doubled) 2000 appearing on the graph.
Look at a match in play and how odds change after a goal or how the score changes with time. It'll make sense. |

Ok mate thanks for your help, i will watch the under 2.5 graph tommorow through the game. I wish i could have a video or something i could watch would make more sense to me then i think !

IF you've time you could look now, plenty of stuff in play. Valladolid v Getafe for example. Ther's a "saturday in play coupon" to list them.

Ok mate i'm on that market now, where shall i go. the Over 2.5 market !
By:
whats it mean when its matched ie £62,000 at the moment on the Vallodolid game but the volume is saying £25000 !
By:
on the 1-0 scoreline
By:
What it means is:
Total matched on this event: £67,071 ALL CORRECT SCORE LINES IN TOTAL, THE ENTIRE CS MARKET Betting summary - Volume: £29,810 1-0 ALONE Although my udnerstandign is they count it twice (bet and lay) so e.g. a single 1000 lay appears as 2000. But it' still very useful. |

cheers i understand what you are saying now thanks mate, going to have a look on the Osasuna game now and have a look through the correct score market and the under/over goals market !
By:
Yes you can learn a lot watching markets and how they behave, interact, and act in play.
By:
Yeh true from what i can see on the correct score market a lot money been matched on 0-0 0-1 or 1-0. But what has took my eye is the under 2.5 goal market out of the £111,324 , £75,870 has been backed for under 2.5 goals. Am i right in a way !
By:
Also noticed Villareal are massivly being backed as well on the match odds volume !
By:
It tends to be people prefer the shorter odds, so the favourites (lower odds) tend to get more cash.
By:
ok thanks mate

see what you mean by the graph after that goal went in !
By:
0-2 now thats surprised me a bit as volume was heavy for under 2.5 !

If you back or lay on here, both stakes are always displayed on your screen from the perspective of the backer.
If you want to know total liability for backers and layers, for backers it's the total amount 'matched' divided by 2, so in your example 75870/2. For layers look at each tick and do (price-1)*backers stake and add the total. So taking under 5.5 in the MK dons match: Price Traded B stake L liability 1.04 £2,106 £1,053 42.12 1.05 £1,512 £756 37.8 |

I'm not 100% sure how that works with the crossmatching bot though at betfair?
If you e.g. back under 2.5 with 1k and the crossmatcher matches it on over 2.5, where does the money go in the graph? :) |
