Use the search function, type in the names clive82 and banned_banks. Every FOBT thread that has ever been created, one or both of them are on it. I'll leave you to read them, and draw your own conclusions as to why.

Apart from the reading suggested above it would be worthwhile spending some time in betting shops and observing those that play these machines relentlessly. People from all walks of life - it really is an eye-opener.

Look at the gamcare website and read peoples stories

Thanks for pointers.
Have been doing basic research for public Health, numbers, positioning etc. These will help. |

I've seen a man play 4 FOBT's at once for £100 a spin.

Try and talk to an experienced betting shop manager and they will give you a good insight into the history and purpose of the Fobt.....a lot of betting shop punters still think the Fobts give a generated random number....from experience i could tell you the sort of person who unfortunately gives the bookies their very nice profits.

Perhaps I am being naive and not wishing to be cast as one people giving bookies a nice profit as you say but why would they need to "fix" FOBTs in respect of it not being a random number generator, certainly roulette anyway. The way said game is set up it favours the "house" or, in this case, the bookie anyway. But, yes, it's all 'bout the money as Meja said many years ago... ![]() ![]() |

The FOBTs are not fixed because they don't need to be. People will lose in the long run on them anyway. That's not to say everyone who has ever played them will be down. They might have done well on them and not been on them again or been on them enough times to become down on them. But if you press start at the same time on 2 different machines you will get the same number on both.

last week i was in bookies they were all playing fobt but 5 reel slot machines
instead of roulette, and women from ladbrokes was trying to get them to have loyalty cards !!! |
|
By:
Donny - Notice in my local laddies they seem to have some front of house/shop floor employee going round offering loyalty cards, wondering if we want to take part in some FOBT compo (o i don't thank you very much!!!) and offering me their insipid coffee/tea/biccies.
|
|
By:
every time i bet at ladbrokes they ask if i have a card, .......
will hills seem best for free coffee !!! |
|

If someone ever does figure a way to win
then the loyalty card would flag up his methods. PS Spoke to a guy the other day who had a credit of £3300k, he had been on the machine for 5 hours,he had started with £3k |

50Bridge - Curious as to why you thought the BF Forum would be able to provide any factual basis for your research. You should be aware the contributions on here are governed almost entirely out of personal frustrations at bookmakers restricting player accounts.
You will find more credible commentary on gaming machines graffitied on toilet walls, I'M THE MAN's comment below is a perfect example of lack of knowledge displayed on here. For once I find myself agreeing with Jed, read through the threads and make your mind up regarding the motivations and understanding of the Arber brigade. |
