28+million matched on purple for the US Masters outright and about 6 million more on betfair

i know the matched figure is calculated differently but still impressive because in other major sporting outright markets there is a bigger disparity off the top of my head between here and there

Figures are calculated differently, and for something like golf it can make a big difference.

think that there is a slow migration over seen horse market liquidity rising in last few weeks punters see them as a viable option now.seems to be no reaction from betfair though very strangeConfused

It is but very slowly.  I'm putting up some money on there when I get the chance and it's worth my while.  It could be the tipping point to me getting four screens.

As for money matched on Masters, it's not comparable.  I believe total matched is the sum of (odds x stake), so £10 matched at 100 is £10 matched on Betfair but £1,000 matched on BDaq.  So the high odds in golf make the disparity larger than other markets you would have looked at.

Purple is no where near bf on any events - but liquidity is increasing gradually.

They might be getting closer but they are still hundreds of miles away, and as someone said on the horse racing forum recently, laddies haven't gone for the throat yet.

Who the hell bets on bookings and corners though??? It's like the safety car bet in F1. Call me naive or ignorant but personally think people must have some problemo if they want a bet on tittle tattle. What next??? Snail racing like on that Guinness Ad???

IMO of course!!!

Corner betting is really popular and so are yellow, red cards for certain matches. Just take a look at the Sunderland V Newcastle game at the weekend.

I asked the purple site to add over/under 11.5 corners for at least the Premiership matches but they haven't. The pr1cks on here have options for over/under 9.5, 10.5, 12.5 and 13.5 but no 11.5 and that would be the main one for being near evens and attracting betting volume for English Premier League matches.

Fair enough guys but personally view it as similar to betting on how many starlings I may see in the next hour outside of my window, there for bettings sake etc.

Not a bf fan by any means but for horses early price purple really is a non-entity. I do use it occasionally but liquidity is so poor there and once they've taken a few bets the price gap between purple and bf can go from 3 ticks worse (normal) to 10 or more. Basically they shut up shop on  a selection. They have next to zero "real" customer liquidity up there its just their own bot which is linked to bf at 3 ticks worse - can go to 2 ticks if no interest in animal way after 11amish in the morning. Bf isn't much good for ep horses either tbf.

Not exactly feeling this 'revolution'.

I see the same limited markets with hardly any turned in-play.

Purple need to put up markets with their bots early. It's important that there is a market at least 2 hours before an event.
I mean any event be in US horse racing or tennis. When people see a sea of 1.01's it puts them off.
A lot of by business has been moved there and am looking to increase on that as progress is made and
as long as this place continues in it's rapid decline.

Purple need to put up markets with their bots .... Thats the problem with purple, how can people trust a p2p exchange where the people running it are also on the other side of the bets. Insider trading comes to mind.

That's if they are indeed seeding the market with their bots, but i doubt this.

A very large amount of the liquidity on purple is simply arbitraged from Betfair. If BF went down, purple would immediately lose all liquidity. Most API players (the vast majority of the liquidity provision on BF) don't have software that will or could swap over to purple in the event of a meltdown.

It's not arbitraged it's copied, but should you put an offer up over there and it becomes an arbitrage then the copy bot will take it, which is a fundamental reason why it's extremely hard to take off.  It needs to get busy enough, whereby you can stick offers up and they are more likely to get matched manually of their own accord, rather than simply automated software that takes it purely because it's better than Bf.

Real Madrid's 1st leg CL semi-final match vs. B. Munich went off at around 160k last season.  Their match tonight vs. Dortmund went off at a tad under 650k.  Still well short of here but a massive jump in figures in a year.
