this is the weirdest one yet ... it knows when the race goes InPlay and when it's finished, but nothing in-between.

In the name of GAWD how many times does this crap have to happen before the L drivers at the controls start throwing money at having a reliable site note a fancy new sand foundations pile of crap nobody wants?

How many saturdays has the site fallen over over the last few years?

I sometimes wonder if it's all worth it...:(

I was supposed to be going out for something, now of course I can't as I have to see what state my bets are as the BF site, once again, crashes.

GREAT. (I'm seething in case you wondered, don't need this stress)

yes, for a while Geeks calls were being returned, but prices not updating. now they're all timing out.

bit suspicious that this always happens on a saturday afternoon - even when there's not much on. just 4 mediocre PL games starting at 3, england rugby not till tomorrow, so would imagine load is actually lower than usual.

makes me think DDoS, regardless of denials.

Is that a DoDDos?
By:

Load is typically only 20% of capacity even on a saturday. Doubt that's the problem.

Laugh

The site goes dead, so BF comes out with Denial of Denial of Service.

or DoDos, for short.

Dodo IS perhaps the word to describe the way BF might go of course, given way they are heading.

This is doing my head in, I had various computer troubles yesterday and today (I feel like marching on Redmond to shout personally at some Microsoft employees "WHAT WERE YOU THINKING"), my internet connection has suddenly become flakey sometimes, I'm supposed to be somewhere, and THIS c rap happens.

I need to go drink some strong coffee, that'll calm me down.

Oh up?

only mobile apps are affected according to service.betfair.info

Please be aware that we are currently experiencing technical difficulties with the following:

Betfair iPhone app, Betfair Mobile application, Betfair Mobile Site

We apologise for this disruption and we are fixing the problem as quickly as possible.

my guess is they're not reopening anything till all markets have been cleared.

"I'm not using a mobile and still not working for me! "

You must be mistaken Cosmic Horizon, Under the new EU "PC for PC's" directive all devices are now considered mobile unless bolted to the ground.

Imagine if NatWest/RBS network kept crashing every saturday or run up to christmas because too many people were trying to withdraw money.

The papers would have a field day.

Saturday at BF however, pick up the magic 8 ball and ask "will the site hold up today" *shake* "outlook does not look favourable".

god, is there anything more irritating than watching a horse race and not being able to bet on it?
no wonder folk in countries where gambling's illegal tend to be a bit tetchy Sad

I picked natwest actually because of the fact there's such a furore if they go down.

We EXPECT the banks (nowadays, a collection of IT systems) to be reliable - and they seem to be able to manage it.
BF .. don't.
