According to a regulatory filing notice issued on the 24th January; Andrew Black, one of the founders of Betfair, ‘cashed out’ £3m worth of shares on Wednesday.

In my experience there can be any number of reasons to sell shares, but only one reason to buy them. So I’m not sure a sale is that significant. Also, he still has 7,817,390 left! When Bert left the board is was a watershed moment for Betfair. It’s never been the same since.

It does’s appear however, that Bert is having a bit of a clear out. He recently announced that he was stepping back from his involvement in Swindon Town FC which he doesn’t appear to have particularly enjoyed. Don’t blame anybody from stepping out from the mayhem that is running a football club, tough business.

I regret only one thing: The coofounders havent got a majority. In one word: They are no longer deciding on a betfair shape. If anyone know who is the majority owner please reply. I would like to know which direction betfair are aming.

Softbank purchased 23% of Betfair in early April 2006(old news. Sorce wikipedia. I havent found anything newer). Black has around 8% and Wrey 11%. Please point me where I can find out more who are the owners.

Betfair is a public company.... so I'm one of the owners (I have 1 share).

Because Betfair is public anyone who owns >3% of the shares needs to declare this (I think) via RNS.

You can find Betfair RNS announcements here:

Alternatively, find someone with Bloomberg access and they will be able to pull it up easily.

http://www.hydrodec.com/

he owns 20% and just gave them 5 million finance loan.

I've bought into this company, the shares are still very low, for what they could easily go up to be....
