I am trying to work out what would be the best way to try and get an average goals for a game, would it be best to do h2h matches , past 4 homes vs past 4 aways or just the season as a whole. Any advive would be most welcome, thanks

Complete waste of time knowing what the "avge" is for each team in terms of match goals scored.

Lets say a team has 3 x 0-0 draws then wins the next match 8-0 (like chelsea did vs villa)  they have played 4 games and there has been 8 goals in total which is an avge of 2 goals per game yet 75% of the games ended 0-0.

People just see an avge of 2 goals per game and think goals are guaranteed.  Avge means absolutely feck all, only deluded fools think otherwise

Also alot of donkies forget to take the opposistion into consideration when looking at avges.

it only take a couple of freak 5/6/7 goal games to totally jimmy the avge stats and make goals look more likely than they are
