Probably done you a favour, the range markets on here were useless, rarely any money on them and no ability to trade out in running made them pointless.

here on betfair im probably the biggest liquidityprovider for those markets. inplay i will not bother to post any bets, as noone will bet with me.
![]() where are you spreadbetting joe? i have one account with sporting1ndex, but would like to have more alternatives. |

That's crap for you then, if you've lost a venue you like. They're really small volume markets for betfair though.
I used to work at IG Index (ages ago) and was going to recommend them, but I just realised (a year after the fact) they had shut down the sports business because it didn't make any money. |

So you are not spreadbetting yourself Livermore? I think its so much more fun to have a rangebet when watching sports, than a normal bet.

I only ever put a range bet on here (never a spread bet with a company), and that was also a very long time ago. I can see the appeal of them, but I tend to go for more liquid markets.
I wonder if they appealed a lot to city types (who like to buy/sell), and since the city has been shrinking the spread betting market has too. |

a lot of my friends tell me they wont understand how it works. they are to lazy to have a look imo. its hardly rocket science.

Not many sports spreadbetting firms around these days, city index went to sportingindex, cantor and IGsports gave up on sports, hills and corals tried their hand and failed. Only other ones I can think of are maybe try out www.sportsspread.com/ and www.spreadex.com.

I posted a while back on the football forum about this situation and did not get a single reply, I really like spreadbetting and will be very disappointed if these markets disappear.
By:
well its very sad, but i will move my spreadbetting to another place then. As soon as the old site will be dismissed, there will be no spreadbettingmarket anymore.
By:
Agree it will be missed when is the old site closing?
By:
Sporting Index aren't closing down.
By:
Why can't these markets be accomodated on the new site or simply leave the old site as it is ?
By:
hologon: old site will close they wrote in an email. they dont have a date for that obviously yet.
berti: they wrote me an email, that the new site cant handle spreadbettingmarkets. imo they created a site for mugs and spreadbetting is obviously to hard to understand for mugs. they are happy with "cash out"-function, multiples and casino. all things a person with half a brain would never use. its too bad, but betfair thinks they will make more money with that. obviously the exchange isnt too profitable anymore. |

thanks for that info

I honestly never knew that there ever was any spread betting on BF.
Shows how well I know the site. Was there ever any substantial volume in it on here ? |
By:
i do booking index and total goals index. those markets are available for matches, which are shown on british tv.
liquidity has decreased massively this year. main problem will be, that its nowhere advertised and nowhere explained. i have no idea, why betfair did never get deeper involved with spreadbetting. if there was one rangemarket for every betting event, people would have understand it and started to bet a lot on those markets imo. |
