I don't use betfair too mch these days apart maybe to back a big price at golf and the odd footy bet for a bit of interest, my main betting is on the spreads and as shops for rugby league as there is v little money in this sport on here. I do though from time to time have a decent sized bet on football if there is a real reason to do so. All I can say is the last 5 times I have done this then the price has either been better with the bookies or level and that's without commision. I know people trade, but there must be a lot of lazy people or those that fall for the hype about prices been bigger on here.
Great really when you can say 99 prices to 44 were better on betfair than William hill and forget to tell them that 5% will be taken in comission. (Surely false advertising).
Do others see prices in general been tighter on here? As this place was marketed as the death of the bookies, when in truth they can hardly beat there prices these days.

Leaguer - the betfair adverts do take account of the 5% commission, but of course don't mention further charges that users may get such as the PC. When comparing to individual books BF will always look good, although with Pinnacle back on oddschecker and working to much tighter margins I couldn't imagine BF wanting to do a comparison against them as a single bookie.
What is misleading though is that compared to the whole book of best prices on match odds footie BF is hardly ever best price. Again taking the 5% off I've just had a quick look at this week's Premier League matches and right now BF offers best price about only one result - Fulham to win, but only if you want an early bet that is no larger than £300 at this stage. Having jokers like Bwin and Bodog in the mix does tend to mean the best prices are often fictional but yes, the average footie punter with all the accounts if he can still get on will be best advised to shop elsewhere. I guess not being able to get on/laziness/trading/having all your money here/in-play options are top reasons for BF's continued existence. |

If you look at the correct score market for Chelsea/Arsenal virtually every score is best priced with Betfair. Will prolly be the same with first goalscorer, to score, ht/ft etc

Hope things are well Vis......Would be surprised if this is correct as time and time again I keep seeing prices bigger on the high street without the 5%, you maybe right but tonight on the correct scores I went for 6-0 and 7-0 for small stakes interest and both were bigger with VC without any deductions. So many lazy people would just think 'Its betfair, it must be better on here' With so much competion out there and all the money back offers it's time to forget the hype and shop around |

There must be some juggling with the figures, in last
evenings football league matches (35) on Pricewise only 6 matches bet to 103 or bigger (best prices) and no commission. How does BF prices manage to beat that ? |

BWIN`s market cap is currently a few hundred million more than BF`s.

For anybody who genuinely has to consider Bookie Vs Betfair then PC charge is certainly not an issue

Wonder how betfair fixed odds compare? And why is there no ad campaign from competitors highlighting betfair's very own prices (fixed odds site) as opposed to prices set by betfair's clients.
