I'm flicking through their marketing blurb, and sure enough Harry Redknapp says "get on betfair's system crashing on the opening weekend, at a tasty 1.18, sure to come in. THAT'S value!"
He's a shroody!

Hopefully some institutional investors will start demanding sackings. Because one thing we know is BF are too institutionally dysfunctional to sort this chronic incompetence out themselves.

Actually, more importantly, how do your kids who are used to getting "a few bob" every other day, explain it to their bank managers?

Incident where most people were locked out for a lengthy period but some users (using mobile apps or just lucky enough to nip back in during brief uptime or whatever route it was) were able to bet and take the unmatched bets. I.e. Betfair didn't suspend the markets internally or cancel bets so a small number of people were then able to sit and snipe away at the bets for the duration, with inplay matches etc. The people WITH unmatched bets couldn't cancel them and betfair hadn't protected them (as they clearly should have), so it was a complete nightmare scenario.
Afterwards they promised they'd lock things down when things go to pot to prevent this, which I believe they reference in their recent incident report.
