This topic is purely to keep myself motivated and under control so feel free to interject.  I intend to build up my balance by 10% a week by making small quick in and out trades. First target is £50 then I will see what the score is after that.  Target for each week is the 10% reached on Sunday night. Gonna be a slow burner so lets see how it goes.

£19.21 to £50 in the first week - isn't that 11%?
Report moonaxed • August 13, 2012 4:15 AM BST
good luck with this ashley i was about to start something similar to this when new football season gets underway but i will just join in on yours now all the best anyway

666_v.  No mate I mean that's my eventual target and moonaxed, thanks very much.  I expect to have the p1ss taken out of me but yeah, I am hoping very slowly to build up a fortune!!  Ha ha.  Lost thousands over the years on Betfair so i'm taking the slow approach and posting my progress on here will hopefully keep me under check and stop me from doing stupid things.
Report moonaxed • August 14, 2012 2:23 AM BST
just stick with it is there a ethod or plan?
Report 666_v • August 14, 2012 2:37 AM BST
Good luck with it Ash - only jesting

No method or plan moonaxed.  Just whittling away the weekly target.  Plenty of live action tonight in the Capital One Cup.  Swindon and Brighton on TV so I will probably dip into that one.  Thanks 666_v, no problem pal.

Well finished the night with a profit!  A few quick in and out trades with the Swindon victory over Brighton game.  Bodes well for us on Saturday because we have got the Seagulls first game of the season.

Balance now - £20.78 (£1.77 to go for the weeks target)
Report Ashley58 • August 16, 2012 12:03 AM BST
Well made 18p on the Betfair live video game last night (Cerro Largo v Aurora) but a nice percentage on the England v Italy match (£1.50).  Obviously watching the game makes it a lot easier to make a decision.  Balance now stands at £22.46.

Update:  Just made a cheeky little 27p on the Betfair live Sudamericana game. Balance £22.73.  Thats all folks until next Monday now!  See if I can hold out.
Report racingguru • August 16, 2012 1:09 AM BST
Sorry if this offends but how can you spend 2 hours of your life trading a footie game to make 27p - surely you could flip some burgers and make 20 quid in the same time.
Report Ashley58 • August 16, 2012 1:55 PM BST
Racingguru.  Not offended, no problem.  I just made the extra little 27p to get me up to my target for the week.  Took only 2 mins not 2 hours.  I only put a cheeky £2 on to return the 27p so thats a 13% profit.  When my targets are higher, the stakes will be higher so the returns will be higher (in theory!)  I agree though, this early stage the figures are tiny but i've lost a lot of money in the past so I am taking it slow and steady.  Cheers mate.

Best of luck.

Apologies to myself for neglecting this a bit.  Last weeks total was reached with quick bets in various midweek games that I could listen to or watch.  Mostly the Hull City games because I know we are struggling to score at the minute!  Balance stands at £25.72 so that's this weeks total reached and a little bit of next weeks.  Total for next Sunday night is £27.29.  Mighty oaks grow from little acorns!
Report Ashley58 • August 28, 2012 9:49 PM BST
Well thanks to my lot getting knocked out of the League Cup by eternally bitter Doncaster Rovers I managed to make £1.13 tonight leaving a further 44p to go to reach this weeks target.  Exciting isn't it?
Report Ashley58 • September 2, 2012 10:48 AM BST

         Newcastle v Atromitos       - + 8p

Amount to this weeks target = 9p

02/08/12 Barcelona v Valencia - +6p
02/08/12 Herediano v CS Cartagines - +4p
03/08/12 Lens v Angers - +1.28 (Intended a quick trade but the leaders scored again so I stayed in)
04/08/12 Mansfield v Tamworth - +2p

Amount to this weeks target = £1.06
Report Ashley58 • September 8, 2012 10:43 AM BST
Oops!  Previous posts dates where supposed to be for the September not August.

06/09/12 Alcoyana v Valencia - +4p
07/09/12 Azerbaijan v Israel - +10p
07/09/12 Moldova v England - +2.18

Weeks target reached with £1.25 carried over to next weeks target.  To be honest....this is boring to do.

targets are pointless, maximise the opportunities when they occur and have patience to sit on your hands when the opportunities are spares
Report Ashley58 • September 16, 2012 9:55 AM BST
Your comment had me thinking They for a few days and I got a bit disheartened.  I am going to continue because in 5 weeks I haven't had a losing result.  Cheers for the input though.
Report Ashley58 • September 16, 2012 9:57 AM BST
By the way.  Up the Tigers!!!!  We are looking awesome.  Top 6 finish in that Championship barring any injuries.  Thanks to Rangers for Sone Aluko and Sheffield Utd for Stephen Quinn!  Its the best football I have seen at the KC for years.  Better even than our promotion year and the Premier League performances.

Aiming for a 1.2 percent profit a week now as 1.1 was soooooooo slowwwwwwwwww.

This looks like a fascinating challenge thread .... OP can you please update. thanks.

Will do.  Didn't think anyone was bothered!  Stay tuned.  Cheers.
Report Ashley58 • October 15, 2012 6:26 PM BST
This strategy is a month old now and using the same techniques, but not stopping at a set percentage profit per week, my balance is £121.67.  That's a 1110% profit!  Never had a losing trade.  I have been only dipping in and out of games I can watch or listen to with the exception of a few I stayed in.  Which has meant some rip roaring times listening to Grimsby Town!   I shall continue to post progress on here and will start to aim for the 20% profit a week.
Report Ashley58 • October 15, 2012 8:34 PM BST
Sorry, two months progress not a month!  Listening to Port Vale v Oxford Utd on the Tigers player (Hull City website).
Starting balance for the week - £121.67
Quick trade on the above match before half-time
Balance now - £124.95
Target at end of week - £146

Great stuff Ashley.
It is a bit like those other threads of 6.5 goals etc
But they are staking everything each game and usually get busted at some point and return to zero.
It takes a long time but they do build a large bank. Patience is the key it seems.
How much are you putting on each game?
Report Ashley58 • October 16, 2012 10:19 PM BST
Sometimes £2 Burlington Bertie, sometimes all I have.  Depending on the situation.  Almost all the time towards the end of the halves when odds or falling quite rapidly.  Cheers for the encouragement.
