I like a multiple bet from time to time and lately the usual exchange multiples section has become less and less populated with sports/fictures. I asked Betfair why this was the case and the reply I got was that they are looking to phase this out and then eventually I would have to do it via the beta!

What next to force us onto the beta? What next to force us out of Betfair?

i feel like i've been resisting a five year betfair campaign to get me to use trading software as their interface slowly falls apart.

No one in their right minds wd use Beta for horse racing unless they were taking a price and never visiting the market again.

They want price-takers on the one side and liquidity providers accessing the site through the API on the other.

Beta is totally carp.Unbelievably slow.

Stop making beta the default setting and forcing people to opt out of it. FFS.

askari - that's probably the reason they don't have a payout function in Beta.  At least there wasn't the last time I looked.

I hate the beta, didn't even let me place a bet earlier
What's worse is that I kept clicking 'opt out' (which seemed to take me to the football section?) and when I went back to where I wanted it went back to the beta again!!

i also dislike it along with the majority of site users imo...sometimes you dont fix something thats not broken!!!

RichWill, the payout function is wholly in bf's favour as it forces the bettor to cross the spread and effectively 'pay' the site for any illiquidity.

The people putting bf together, and those running it now, are not horse punters. They see football as where the growth is and where they can dominate IP markets.

It's dangerous imv as they could lose a lot of semi-professional horse punters, who wd be the starting clientele of an emerging rival.

If you're on Safari you can't leave Beta at all. When you navigate to any market from the right, the market opens up in the format you've repeatedly tried to leave.

I feel that bf are doing beta in order to do something. They shd instead cut headcount by 30% and sacrifice some margin for better prices, particularly in early markets.

FFS Betfair, get rid of Beta, its absolutely xxxx, just took me about 50 clicks there to place on a simple bet on the olympics.  Listen to your customers

its the same for opera as safari it won't let you choose the old site keeps going back to the new.  Emailed about it but they seemed oblivious to this!

my advice would be put your accas on with a bookie(you get better value)and pay the 6 quid a month for gruss and never go to the betfair interface ever again,

Beta is awful - everybody hates it. Will Betfair listen? No.

I thought opting out meant opting out, they keep jamming it down my throat.
Leave well enough alone, we want ease of use, ease of bet placement.
Bell and whistles are for Christmas parties, not for websites.
Thankyou.

"If you're on Safari you can't leave Beta at all." Lol until the penny dropped, for about 5 seconds I had the mental picture of a guy hunched over a dusty laptop, surrounded by giraffes and lions, sticking a fiver on a horse.

PS opt out is a cookie, so for me, if the cookie is set to be stored, it "sticks" on that computer/browser. I'd guess most opt out complainers have cookies disabled.

unfortunately betfair is part of the reason i have to delete all my cookies every week or so and go through the whole opting out process all over again. pain in the arse.

The people who had the imagination to set up the company have all left. Many of those running betfair now are indistinguishable from those who would work for any bookmaker.

I get the feeling that they see their customers in the same way that the banks see theirs--as ready to be milked, to be given a poor product in price terms because there's no alternative.

Stop w/ the bells and whistles and think of how you can genuinely offer something good!

It's funny how Microsoft are taking flak for putting a user interface suitable for small touch screens on desktop computers, yet in the age of netbooks and smaller screen displays rather than improving their small screen "experience", betfair are pushing a new design that's apparently supposed to be aimed at very patient people with time to burn using 25" displays or greater, and making netbooks unusable :)

(and EVERYONE is wrong for not liking it Whoops)

I can't get the classic forum now, I can only get the old site to bet, but I’m very disappointed with Betfair if they're forcing this mess upon us.

What are they trying to do drive us away?

Not sure about BF BETA research, but when new products are launched they are normally aired before the public in the name of market research , the trouble is ... when a new beer comes out , they select random members of the public who drink beer -but that's it .

they may not KNOW about beer .

it's like getting a dyed stella drinker and asking their opinion about Abbot Ale -it just wouldn't work ,yet companies still go down this route .

and i've been on a few of the these sittings
By:

When: 05 Aug 12 18:58
you could always tell the researchers in town too so you'd get any old bluffers , get paid a few quid for 30 minutes of your time - but really,it was all a waste of time for the company  Grin

I find it helps to use this URL to login
.
http://soccer.betfair.com/?optout=true

Takes you directly to non-beta soccer then just navigate around the site as normal.

Cd they antagonise me any better?

Any sign of Bfair paying attention to all of this? I've just been following a Russian game in beta with the header on page still convinced the game was in the first half. Good job the odds quoted were up to date!

The problem is, and always will be, is that people moan and moan and moan, but NEVER leave betfair. If enough people emptied their accounts and stopped using betfair, THEN they would listen!

i'm surprised that ginger bearded c..t hasn't started up a site ,although i possibly think it would be a lot worse than this - however at least it would create competition of sorts
