It's nothing to do with the computer, it all depends on how you are connecting to the internet. Mobile Internet (3g) has fairly high delays, but if you have a wifi connection oncourse to a decent broadband connection, it will be speedy. I'm guessing the people with the corporate boxes also get access to broadband too. Wandering around the grandstand using 3g won't be as good.

Thanks Mr.Magoo,as I said I am not too sharp with tech devices so forgive me if I am asking v. basic questions. Can u get a wifi connection at most courses or how does it work? How do get online via wifi?

I don't know of any courses that offer internet access except for corporate boxes. The only option is to get a mobile internet connection, i.e. phone, iPad with SIM card, or a 3g dongle thingie for a laptop. Pretty sure that most courses don't welcome laptops on course either.

Ya i thought the ipad would be more discreet. What would the delay in seconds be with mobile internet compared to broadband? No other options apart from 3g??
