Always plenty of talk on here about being closed down in shops and online/phone but the ones I really feel sorry for are the jobsworths who operate the shops. You do get a few who feel uncomfortable with what they are being asked to do and transmit a kind of 'best of luck pal but I am sorry I have to do this' attitude, but a great many of them really do think that this great company that they work for really is going to reward them for implementing their disgraceful practices. They defend the companies pot as if it was their own unaware seemingly that once the unsocial hours, the crappy conditions, the real threat of violence has all gone they will be left with poxy pension if a pension at all. I popped in a shop the other day to cash a bet and one manager was venemous because I had got it one via an unknowing cashier (yes all I did was place a bet at offered odds). She even noticed I had a very short hair cut since my last visit and accused me of crew cutting my hair in order to go unnoticed 'the hair cut is not fooling any one she vexed'. Sad very sad!

Shouldn't you be defending yourself on the other "come to this conference it's really great" thread you created.

There is very little point, most critics have very little notion of investing in themselves. They see anything that is being charged for as some sort of con or rip off. What they really want is the holy grail but for free and accessible to all perhaps via a TV channel. They do not seem to see that if you pay nothing you will get nothing. Experts in the fields of betting are not going to talk about methods for nowt!. We had excellent feedback from all 21 delegates with all saying they would recommend the conference to others. If you are making your betting pay in a real worthwhile sense then well done and good luck but if you are not then my advise is to invest in yourself for a while, if not with our conference then via other means.

I have to agree I do wonder why some staff go out of their way to be jobsworths.  I recently came across a manager who rang up all the local shops to warn them that a gang of "cheats" were in the area after we had bet a dog winner on the BAGS.  He was fuming that we had won and decided we must be cheats!  He even went around the corner to warn his competitors.  Best thing was, we never bet another winner all day and he would have got the lot back plus more.  Laugh

There are two shops of the same chain in v. close proximity to me. I took a price on one up to the PTL then did likewise in the other. The cashier phoned the guy in the other shop to ask how to find the early prices and when he twigged I was having the same bet twice, glared at me and said, 'you're sharing the love'.

These people shd be put on turnover targets only, with the boys at head office asked to take care of trading. Then they might be pleased to take yr bet.

Last week told by Ladbrokes' shop that I can only have £50 max.

And yesterday, in the Corals 3 doors away, told can only bet at SP.

Plenty of mugs playing on the roulette machines though.
